Snow Emergency Levels Ohio: Ohio faces Level 2 snow emergency now!
Eth snow is hitting hard this year and its showing no signs to fizz away. Clark and Champaign counties have shifted to level 2 snow emergency while Fairfield County is under level 1. A level two emergency would indicate extremely hazardous driving conditions as the roads get molded with solid ice.
There have been 25 accidents recorded from frozen roads as of now. Officials have announced ‘don’t travel’ orders unless it’s absolutely necessary.
“We are laying down some brine on the streets before the storm arrives,” Toby Shamblin, superintendent of the Lancaster Department of Transportation said. “Then it is up to Mother Nature. It looks like at some point we may have to stop putting down salt and go to plowing only, at least until the storm clears the area.”
Ned Weber was quoted saying “Thirteen trucks are out clearing roadways in Clark County.”
NYC public schools have declared a holiday tomorrow as they don’t want to mess with the harsh snow storm.
Washington is covered with up to 21 inches (53 cm) of snow at some places while 20 to 30 inches (51 to 76 cm) of snowfall have been recorded Virginia and southern New Jersey.
Cross Canadian Ragweed in Bonnaroo Line-up
Legendary music festival Bonnaroo is announcing the line-up for its 2010 festival today, and instead of doing so in one fell swoop, the fest is releasing info via its MySpace page all day long.
Rolling Stone reports that the line-up, thus far, seems to consist of Phoenix, Weezer, the Flaming Lips (covering Dark Side of the Moon from start to finish), OK Go, guitarist Jeff Beck, John Fogerty, jazz combo Medeski Martin & Wood, slick ’80s wannabes Chromeo w/ guest Daryl Hall, Punch Brothers, the Avett Brothers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Isis, 311, Baroness, Blues Traveler, Bassnectar, Neon Indian, Black Keys, the Constellations, and Ingrid Michaelson.
Cross Canadian Ragweed is an American Red Dirt quartet. The name of the band came from the combination of three band members’ names, Grady Cross (guitar), Cody Canada (guitar, vocals), and Randy Ragsdale (drums). Jeremy Plato’s (bass) name was not involved in the band naming. Despite rumors of preceding bassist contributing to the band name, Jeremy Plato was a founding member of the band, according to Cody Canada. The band frequently plays with country music star Dierks Bentley and other stars of the Red Dirt scene including Stoney Larue, Micky & The Motorcars, Reckless Kelly, (Canada’s brother-in-law) Wade Bowen, No Justice, Johnny Cooper and Brandon Rhyder. Bentley referenced the band in his song “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)”, singing that “Ragweed’s rockin’ on the radio”.
There’s also an unconfirmed (but probably true) rumour that the Dave Matthews Band will perform at the jam fest. Tickets for the festival are on sale at the Bonnaroo website.
