‘This Is It’ the No. 1 Halloween thriller

In a film it’s essential to have the perfect finishing and when we talk about the Late King of Pop Michael Jackson one gradually falls in love with the magic he creates onscreen. Well the good news is that MJ’s “This Is It” earned $101 million worldwide during its first five days show. It is reported that the Sony distributor will be extending the film beyond the planned two-week run.
According to studio estimates, the film was the No. 1 Halloween thriller with a $21.3 million opening weekend. “This Is It” surely did well by getting a budget of $68.5 million overseas which included $10.4 million in Japan, $6.3 million in Germany, $5.8 million in France and $3.2 million in China.
Rory Bruer, the head of distribution for Sony said that Jackson is loved everywhere on the planet and every continent in the world loves Jackson and his music. “This Is It” features Jackson rehearsing his biggest hits for the London shows in behind-the-scenes performances just weeks before his death on 25th June 2009.
Paul Dergarabedian, box-office analyst said that the studio bet $60 million on MJ’s film and got $101 million in just five days. According to him it was like a gamble and a bet that paid off.
