50 couples pucker up in Times Square pre-New Year’s kissing seminar

Fifty couples locked lips in the northern triangle of Times Square in New York City during a pre-New Year’s kissing seminar.

The seminar, promoting global skin- and body-care brand Nivea, had been a prelude to the big kiss at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s.

The couples, which had been handed out free lip-gloss, made contact after the count down “5-4-3-2-1 Happy New Year,” reports the New York Daily News.

Kissing expert Andrea Demirjian had graced the venue and advised the crowd on lip-locking techniques to mark the special moment bringing in the year 2009.

She said: “Abstaining is a good way to make the kiss more special. To know you can’t kiss someone makes you anticipate it, for both new and old couples.” (ANI)
