Aishwarya Rai: The call of the South! Home is where the heart is!

It was almost after ages, that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was seen at any gathering. It was in Chennai, that the actress was seen at the Sathyam Studios, for the launch of the album ‘Imayamum Sigaramum Rettai Suzhi’, produced by south director, Shankar.

At the gathering, Ash, opened her speech by speaking in perfect Tamil, then she gradually switched over to English. She was very humble and down to earth, as she said that she owed her career in films to the Tamil film industry. She was very grateful to the stalwarts present there, who had sharpened her acting abilities.

She had begun with the director Shankar in the film ‘Jeans’, which was later dubbed in many languages as well, including Hindi. She was quick to add that her learning experience in the Tamil film industry was just marvelous and unparalled. Now, she is being directed by him in ‘Endhiran’, opposite super star Rajnikanth.

The film ‘Rettaisuzhi’ also has south greats like director K.Balachander and Bharathiraja, as the top leading stars and are very important contributors in the film, directed by Shankar’s associate, Thamira.

Aishwarya had gone to the function with her mom, and dressed to kill in a designer white sari. She appeared very much happy and comfortable during the whole meet.

Thus, for Ash, her connection with the south remains intact, proving that- ‘Home is where the heart is’!
