Alexandra Burke : Alexandra Burke’s record-breaking song inspired by sex
- 0 Comments
The song that British soul/pop singer Alexandra Burke sang, and which also broke a chart record, is said to have been inspired by ’sex’.
Burke, who is the winner of the fifth series of the X Factor show, sang her own version of the song ‘Hallelujah’, a song which is originally Leonard Cohen’s and whose lyrics were inspired by bedroom antics.
“I didn’t know it was about sexual positions. I see it as a love song. The words capture me but I don’t automatically think of sex. I think of love,” the Sun quoted Burke as saying tongue in cheek.
The 20-year-old singer on December 16 broke the chart record when she sold off more downloads in two days than the previous record holder did in a week.
On December 15, Burke broke the record for most downloads in a day across Europe, and her version of ‘Hallelujah’ sold 149,546 downloads in two days, exceeding Leona Lewis’ ‘A Moment Like This’ which sold 139,000 in seven days. (ANI)
