Amitabh Bachchan & Abhishek’s Bachchan together in ‘Paa’

What gift can a big star’s son possibly give to his father? The answer is obviously a film! The latest buzz amongst all film buffs is the Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan starrer ‘Paa’. As most of know by now that Amitabh plays son to real son Abhishek in the film, but what most of us don’t know is that in the film Amitabh suffers with a rare disease called ‘Progeria’.This is a disease wherein the victim grows or simply ages five times faster than normal.
As the character played by Amitabh is suffering from the disease, so he has no hair on his body and has only five teeth. He is almost thirteen years old in the film so he has aged to about sixty five years.Amitabh is called ‘Auro’ in the film and his make up used to take almost five hours to transform him into this over grown child. It is reported that before shooting, the director R Balki sat to discuss a few things with Abhishek regarding the movie. After sometime, Abhishek asked where his dad was. When he was told that the over grown child standing right in front of him was his dad he just couldn’t believe it. That is to say that the make up was so perfectly done that even Abhishek couldn’t recognize his own dad.
It is also reported that while on shoot Amitabh used to behave like a child and cry loudly and ask for chocolates. It was necessary to keep chocolates for the film as it is good for a person suffering from this disease to eat chocolates. Taking advantage Amitji had a good time but others were tensed as the doctor’s advice for him was ‘No chocolates at all’.Well, all said and done the film will be releasing soon, so keep watching this column for more.
