Amitabh Bachchan: Saddened by helplessness of Shashi Kapporji!

Recently when Amitabh Bachchan ji and family had boycotted the Film Fare Awards night, he was not aware that the veteran actor Shashi Kapoorji, to whom he was to present the Lifetime Achievement Award, was totally ridden to a wheel chair.

It was only later, when he saw the pictures of the great veteran star, that he faced reality. Big B has expressed total shock and grief in his blog regarding this. He has said that there had been a few calls to him when Big B wanted to invite the veteran actor for the premiere of ‘Paa’, but the ageing star had only managed to whisper that he was unwell and couldn’t attend.

As there was not much time in Big B’s hand, he was not able to contact the veteran star for a special screening. The plight of the ageing star made Big B very hurt indeed.

The two have acted in many films together namely- Deewar, with the all time famous dialogue ‘Mere Paas Maa Hai,’ almost synonymous with the two on screen brothers. Then there was Trishul, Namakhalal, Kala Pathar, Do Aur Do Paanch, Kabhi Kabhi etc.where they played almost competing heroes with great élan and flair. They shared a great chemistry as buddies. The sorry state of the helpless star who once was the brimming star of bollywood has made a deep dent in big B’s heart!
