Angela Lansbury grabs the Tony Award for Best Performance in Blithe Spirit

In the Tony awards tonight, Angela Lansbury has won the Best Performance award by a Featured Actress in the Play Blithe Spirit. God of Carnage won the award for the best play while The Norman Conquests won the award for the Best Revival of a Play.
Tony Awards, recognize achievement in live American theatre and are presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League at an annual ceremony in New York City. The awards are for Broadway productions and performances, and an award is given for regional theatre. The awards are named after Antoinette Perry, co-founder of the American Theatre Wing.
Angela Brigid Lansbury, is a British actress and singer whose career has spanned seven decades. Her first film appearance was in Gaslight, for which she received an Academy Award nomination, and she expanded her repertoire to Broadway and television in the 1950s. Highly respected for her versatility, Lansbury has won five Tony Awards, six Golden Globes, and has been nominated for three Oscars and eighteen Emmys.
