Batesville Casket Company to make burial casket for Michael Jackson

Batesville Casket Company has been asked to make burial casket for Michael Jackson. Contactmusic reports that it will be a solid bronze casket, gold plated and with a dark blue velvet interior. It costs approximately $25,000.
The Batesville Casket Company website says “Bronze caskets combine quality construction and beautiful finishes. Many families choose bronze because it is superior to all other casket materials in strength, durability and naturally non-rusting qualities. Each bronze casket is equipped with a one-piece rubber gasket, helping to resist the entry of air, water or soil into the casket”.
Batesville Casket traces its roots back to 1884 when John Hillenbrand began producing hand made wooden caskets. These caskets had ornate carvings made by casket and furniture companies. In 1906, Hillenbrand purchased the failing Batesville Coffin Company, and renamed it to Batesville Casket Company.
