Baz Luhrmann : Baz Luhrmann’s wife beats him for Oscar nods yet again

It seems that designer Catharine Martin has a habit of upstaging her director husband Baz Luhrmann.
Martin has yet again upstaged her husband after receiving an Oscar nomination for her costumes for the epic Australia, while Luhrmann has not been nominated in any category, reports News.com.au
Earlier, in 2002, Luhrmann dazzled Hollywood with the musical Moulin Rouge!.
While the film picked up eight Oscar nominations, Luhrmann received just a nomination for being one of three producers.
However his wife Martin, was nominated twice for Moulin Rouge!, for art direction and costumes, and won both, making her a rare double Oscar winner on the one night.
A spokesperson said Martin will likely comment when she attends the G’Day: USA Ball in New York on where Luhrmann will receive an award.
The Australia Week organisers will present him with an Excellence in the Arts Award. (ANI)
