Beatles fans being flooded with fake memorabilia

The Beatles fans have had their excitement busted after being conned with fake memorabilia.

Hollywood A-listers such as Tom Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson, who is presently locked in a battle with a dealer over a phoney poster, have also fallen prey to the forged material.

Frank Caiazzo, a leading Beatles expert at auctioneer Christie’s, put out a word of caution that majority of Fab Four memorabilia was nothing but a hoax.

“This is a growing heartbreak that’s turning up more every day. There’s a never-ending supply of non-authentic signed material,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“Ninety per cent of the Beatles material out there is fake,” he added.

Meanwhile, Brian San Souci, a top collector, added: “If a dealer refuses to tell you who owned a piece, and when it was signed and under what circumstances, it’s highly suspicious.” (ANI)
