Billy Mays dead: Fox News Reports!

Billy Mays is dead. He died yesterday and cause of his death is still not known. Foxnews reports that “Mays was found unresponsive by his wife inside his Tampa, Fla., home at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Tampa Police Department”.

Mays had been aboard US Airways Flight that blew out its front tires as it landed at Tampa International Airport on June 27, the day before his death. None of the 138 passengers and five crew members were reported to be seriously injured immediately following the incident, but several passengers reported having bumps and bruises from falling objects. Mays told a local Tampa television station that some of the objects “hit me on the head, but I got a hard head.” It is unclear whether Mays’ death was related to the incident.(MSNBC)

Billy Mays was a television direct-response advertisement salesperson most notable for promoting OxiClean, Orange Glo, and other cleaning, home-based, and maintenance products. His distinctive beard and loud sales pitches made him a recognizable television presence.

His success as a TV pitchman lead him to found Mays Promotions, Inc. On April 15, 2009, the Discovery Channel began airing Pitchmen, a documentary series that features Mays.
