British movie awards : ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ picks three nominations at British movie awards

After the quadruple at the Golden Globes, Danny Boyle’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ has now garnered three nominations at the Evening Standard British Film Awards.
The film, which tracks the story of an 18-year-old boy from rags to riches, has been nominated in the category of Best Director for Boyle and Most Promising Newcomer for actor Dev Patel.
The third nomination is for technical achievement for production designer Mark Digby, reports Contactmusic.
The awards will be handed out at a ceremony in London on 2 February (09)
The film triumphed the Golden Globes, where the Indian-based film took home awards for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director for Boyle, Best Screenplay by Simon Beaufoy and Best Original Score by A.R. Rahman. (ANI)
