Gary Lightbody said they will be playing ‘Chasing Cars’, backed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and ‘Set the Fire to the Third Bar,’ a 2006 track originally recorded with Martha Wainwright. Martha is not in the house and that’s no problem because Cheryl Cole will fill up the space which would result in a complete improvisation of the song due to the contrast in the textures of voices amongst the artists.

Lightbody says, “They’ve very kindly given us two songs, not everyone’s been given two songs. We get to do ‘Chasing Cars’ with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. And they’re also let us play ‘Set the Fire to the Third Bar’ with Cheryl, which will be an interesting one because it was written for Martha Wainwright a very different and darker and unusual singer.”

She said ‘What song do you want to do?’ and we said that [’Set the Fire to the Third Bar’}, and she went away and listened to it. I think she’d only heard a couple of our singles. She got back straight away and said, ‘Yeah, I’m up for it.’ Hats off to her. “

Actress Genelia D’Souza is the host of this show with a unique concept .She looks stunning and is at her bubbly and vibrant best in the show. The basic format is that ten super rich youngsters have been given a partner each from the slums. Now each pair has to live in the slums with the normal day to day problems normally faced by people living in such dire conditions.

The real challenge is for the rich participants who normally would never have to face such circumstances in their real lives. There will be tasks given and those are like cooking chappaties, washing utensils, etc. On completion of the tasks points will be given. Each episode will have a different twist to it. The rich have a major challenge to face as they have to forego their luxurious lifestyle and live with very limited supply of essentials.

How much of the show will intrigue the audience only time will tell, but the winner gets rupees 10 lakhs as prize money. So, to say that this should be incentive enough for the participants to work hard and try winning the amount would not be wrong.

The participants are people like Adam Bedi, Pooja Mishra, and Natasha Suri etc.

Let’s hope the show does well after the flying start that it has got.

Speaking of the ladies sangeet, Shilpa looked stunning with her straight hair open and pinned back neatly. Both her hands had “Mehendi” or “Hena” on them and the colour of the “mehendi” has come out really beautifully. It is said according to Hindu beliefs that if on the bride’s hand and feet the colour of the “mehendi” is dark and beautiful then the bride gets a lot of love and affection from her in- laws. So Shilpa is lucky.

The sangeet began with some south Indian songs and then according to sources, Shamita Shetty performed a skit along with some others and it got everyone in splits of laughter.Then it is reported that Shilpa herself danced on the bollywood number from the film ‘Chandni’, ‘Mere haathon mein nau nau chudian hai’.

It was also reported that towards the end of the show both the families of the Shetty’s and the Kundra’s were supposed to perform together on the ‘Om Shanti Om’ title track so that this would remain a special moment of remembrance for them all.

Well all we can say is that our breaths are held up to see what kind of wedding the hot couple of bollywood will be having in a few hours from now. God Bless the couple.

There was a flurry of activity as she took details of the dressing sense of women in this part of the world, the food habits and also the beauty care time allotted by most women to themselves. She even attended a “mehendi” ceremony. All this has been included as part of the show. Jessica went shopping at the local market and also visited the famous jewellery showroom called Giantti, where she bought exquisite jewellery like a gold jewellery set of 14 carat Gold. Then she visited Ritu Kumar’s boutique and there she chose a “Lehenga” in Fuchsia which had light “zardozi” work and also a “Maharani neckpiece” with “Kundan” work set in pure gold for her show.

Then after her stint for her show and her stay was drawing to a close she chose to shoot a little of the party given for the wrap of the shooting. The show also is going to attach some scenes from the party held at the Vie Deck & Lounge which is in Juhu. Jessica wore a turquoise coloured sari for the shoot for the 20 minutes that is going to be added to the show.

On the last day before leaving, she received a piece of modern art with the city of Mumbai depicted beautifully. It was gifted to her by the hotel staff. A very touched and happy Jessica bid goodbye to all with a promise to return at the same place the next time around as well.

Each Arkansas football game this season will be televised and distributed around the nation as part of the unprecedented coverage provided by the new Southeastern Conference television agreements.

The games will be aired in 49 stations nationwide ,  sec network affiliate. Arkansas-Mississippi State game and the Alabama-Chattanooga games will be split up by SEC Network affiliates.

This is the 10th time this season UA will play on network television. It’s a record in itself for most appearances during a regular season in school history.

The game will also be available on ESPN Game plan and ESPN360, so the fans who do not reside in the area of any of the affiliates need not be disappointed.

Tahiliani says, “I’ve used vibrant colors, brocade and crystallized Swarovski elements for Shilpa’s wedding dress, which is a stunning sari-drape in red, covered all over in ruby and Swarovski pearls.”
Ishu Datwani of Anmol Jewellers that has designed Shilpa’s bridal jewellery says, “She will be covered from head to toe in uncut diamonds.”

The couple will then take off for Bahamas for their honeymoon. “The honeymoon has been planned by Raj after doing a lot of research about places that Shilpa has not been to,” reveals a source.
Shilpa visited Siddhivinayak temple with Kundra and sister Shamita on Wednesday to seek divine blessings. This has always been a favorite place for the Bollywood stars before they start of with something like this!

New CEO, Michael A. Carpenter, a GMAC board member is trying to put things back on line. He was appointed in May 09. The company recorded an improvement over a net loss of $2.5 billion in the year-ago quarter while Ford Credit was up by $95 million from last year.

“A renewed GMAC is crucial to business and public sector efforts to bolster the U.S. auto industry, and we have a special obligation to the public to do everything we can to ensure GMAC succeeds,” Carpenter said in a written statement. Carpenter succeeds Alvaro de Molina, who resigned.

Poor performance of GMAC made the GM to cut its stake in GMAC from 49 percent to 24.5 percent.

Friend-choreographer Ganesh Hegde is invited to choreograph everyone’s dance moves for the grand Sangeet on 21st Nov.  Ganesh says, “There’s no singular theme, but yes, we will explore and celebrate that Shilpa, who is from a South Indian (Bunt) family, is marrying Raj, who is a Punjabi. We’ll have a good mix of South Indian and Punjabi style dance and music.” It seems they have planned a role play on her future in-laws. Dance performances are also going to be showcased by them. There are no professional dancers invited in the Sangeet function.

Shilpa will be dancing on some of her own numbers. Apart from that, the hot babe and her beau Raj will be dancing on the hit number “Teri Ore” from the film Singh is King and also some lovey-dovey hit songs.

There have been few minor changes like – the wolves will get ample screen space in New Moon unlike last year’s Twilight, the look and style of the film after new director Chris Weitz came on board the franchise has significantly changed.
There are some bigger changes as well, like Taylor Lautner’s (Jacob Black in the movie) has gone through a major physical change. He is all beefed up and super muscular now.

The movie won’t disappoint the Twilighter’s for sure. In the movie, Bella is separated from her vampire boyfriend against her wish. Bella is left unprotected and exposed to wandering vampires who are pretty angry of Bella’s former lover’s family as they barbequed some of their friends. After Edward’s departure, she is left emotionally shatter and cuts off ties from her friends and family.

Taylor Lautner Bella’s childhood friend Jacob Black turns up and Bella’s wounds begin to slowly heal when Jacob comes back into her life. The director has done a fabulous job with Jacob and his wolf pack brothers. The wolves are pretty good and are convincing enough to portray that they are outsiders with a secret agenda of living. The young wolves have some funny moments too.

Weitz has done an incredible job with the secondary cast, making all the characters felt needed and there was not a single moment where Bella’s friends and others felt unneeded.

Weitz was taken mainly because of his experience with digital creatures on The Golden Compass and he proved his worth by portraying astounding bear-sized werewolves, amazing fight sequences and the compelling human side of the wolves added a tremendous touch to his craftsmanship.

The Edward Bella romance was portrayed in a soul less fashion (vamps don’t have soul), for example when Robert and Kristen reunite, he acts every bit as robotic and gloomy as his co-star. You won’t see those emotions flowing and that’s how it is supposed to be.

The movie was overall good and nothing astounding, people must go grab a bite at this for sure but don’t expect anything too much out of it.

Heidi Klum, the host and one of the judges of the show, complemented Irina, “Your line was sleek, modern and cohesive and it told a story.”

“I can’t believe it!” was the first expression Irina had and she jumped into Tim Gunn’s arms as he walked out to congratulate her. “I’m definitely proud of myself,” she said. “I think this deserves a pat on the back, because I did have some stiff competition.”

Earlier the judges had some issues with her all-black collection featuring oversized shawl collars, hooded sweaters, and highly structured heavy wool. But they praised her sense of showmanship and were all praises for Irina and her collection.
Carol Hannah Whitfield and Althea Harper stood runners up in the show. They were equally impressive, but then there has to be just on winner!

Irena’s walked away with the $100,000 prize money, a spread in Marie Claire and a Paris vacation on the horizon.
Our heartiest congratulations to Irina and to her models, who wore Irena’s designs all the way to the top! May she stands at the top in all her future days…

The proceeds collected from auctioning of these paintings would be given to a non-profit organisation working for the uplift of the elderly.

It was a joy to notice that after creating magic for the reel life, Bollywood directors and actors used brushstrokes for a noble cause in real life.

An initiative of HelpAge India, the painting event was held to raise funds for the benefit and upliftment of the elderly from the auction of paintings made by the Bollywood celebrities and famous painter Anjanna Kuthiala.

“It is a platform of heart and HelpAge is a good organisation which working to help the people and it is our good luck to be associated with it,” said Shekhar Suman, actor.

For some of them, it was an emotional event and related to their personal lives.

“Actually after living for almost 40 years abroad, I”ve now moved to India mainly because my mother has turned 80 and I want to be with her. All of a sudden Brand realises he can hear Britney and now he wonders if she was also listening to his thoughts.
He finally decides to give it a try and calls Britney to her room. This is not the first time the pair has teamed up for a promo for the music awards’ presentation.

The duo had also appeared in a short clip for last year’s presentation, which had been hosted by Brand. The VMAs are scheduled for September 13 in New York.

According to Us magazine, Michael Lang, one of the four founding members of the legendary festival, has revealed that he has failed to find sponsors to raise an estimate 10million dollars needed for hosting the event.

"Money. No sponsors," the BBC News quoted Lang as telling Rolling Stone magazine. The concert was rescheduled in New York’s Climate Week in September after the previous plan to host it at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park during August got cancelled.

The New York show was aimed at coinciding with Climate Week NYC, which will run from 20 to 25 September as part of the international Seal the Deal campaign.

The convention focuses on shaking up governments to sign a climate change pact at a December summit in Copenhagen, Denmark. Lang said: "It would have been a big boost for the issue."

"It’s a little bit surreal. We have had two approaches to take this show to the Arab Emirates and to Dubai," the Telegraph quoted David Pugh, one of the two producers, as saying. "They want us to play in the big hotels out there – sort of in the way that Derek Nimmo and his troupe used to.

"I don’t know how we would do it with the nudity due to the strict dress codes out there though. It might well require extra costumes. Are we going to use burkas?" he said.

In keeping with the Middle Eastern tradition of gift giving, their hopeful hosts have started sending tokens. "The ladies have already had lots of flowers delivered to their dressing rooms," Pugh said. "How we will source Victoria sponges and Bakewell tarts in the desert, I don’t know," he added.

AEG Live, the promoters for the King of Pop’s slated comeback tour, are said to be trying hard to woo the renowned band out of retirement.

"There’s a little foursome out in Sweden we keep talking to," British tabloid The Sun quoted the firm’s chief David Campbell as saying.

Jackson was due to begin his This Is It gigs on July 13. His sudden death has left the organizers facing a multi-million pound black hole if they are unable fill the slots.

The exhibition titled ‘Beatles to Bowie: The 60s Exposed’ runs from October 15 to January 24 in London. It will also feature pictures of the Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who and Cliff Richard.

The display will illustrate how tastes have changed over the decade, with the clean-cut Shadows and Dave Clark Five giving way to the psychedelia of Pink Floyd and the androgynous appeal of David Bowie.

The exhibition will include a photograph of Hendrix during a visit to London in 1967, and a series of pictures of the Beatles shot for the cover of Boyfriend magazine in 1963, both taken by the photographer Fiona Adams.

Cecil Beaton’s portrait of Scott Walker is another image on public display for the first time.

There will also be a rare group shot captioned ‘Million Dollar Poppets’ in which female stars Cilla Black and Lulu pose alongside Marianne Faithfull and Elkie Brooks, amongst others.

“This exhibition will show how, in the 1960s, music changed the world – and how Britain was the central axis of new popular culture,” the Telegraph quoted Sandy Nairne, director of the National Portrait Gallery, as saying.

Previously, an independent autopsy conducted on ‘Kung Fu’ star David Carradine’s body had said that the actor did not commit suicide.

“On the basis of the information we currently have, coupled with the autopsy findings, Carradine’s death does not appear to be a suicide,” Dr. Michael Baden, who performed the autopsy, told FOXNews.com.

“In any death, before arriving at a final cause, one has to gather not only the autopsy results, but also the Findings at the scene of the death, the crime lab information and the toxicology results. In this situation, some of those investigations have not been completed yet,” Baden said.

Carradine was found dead a week ago, hanging in a closet of a Bangkok hotel room.

In an email to promoters AEG, Jackson said he wants to assemble a children’s choir for the shows, made up of “exactly equal” numbers of black, white, Asian and mixed-raced kids.

The email added that all of the child singers must be able to do sign language.

Michael Jackson decided to step out for his London tour after a 13-year gap to set up a trust fund for his kids, according to the organiser of his forthcoming gigs.

The King of Pop, who last toured in 1996, was due to kick start his much-awaited 50-show run at the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena on July 8.

But the opening night of his This Is It tour was pushed to July 13, while three other gigs, previously slated for July 10, 12 and 14, will not be staged until March next year.

The delay sparked speculations, with some suggesting the singer is at the verge of financial ruin.

But Randy Phillips, president of promoters AEG Live, insisted Jackson’s three children, Prince, 12, Paris, 11 and Prince Michael Jackson II, also known as Blanket, six, are his muses for the comeback.

“When I asked him why he was doing this tour now, he said it was because his kids are old enough to appreciate it and he still felt young enough to do it,” the Daily Express quoted him Phillips as saying.

“He’s told me that whatever profit he makes from these shows will go into a trust fund for his children,” he added.

The King of Pop made the revelation outside his LA dance studio, telling fans he wanted to perform only a couple of concerts at the O2 arena and spread the remaining shows all over the world.

The Thriller hitmaker alleged he only came to know about the extra 40 bookings later and fears his small appetite may not allow him the stamina to perform on such a massive scale.

“Thank you for your love and support, I want you guys to know I love you very much. I don’t know how I’m going to do 50 shows. I’m not a big eater – I need to put some weight on,” the Sun quoted him as saying.

“I’m really angry with them booking me up to do 50 shows. I only wanted to do 10, and take the tour around the world to other cities, not 50 in one place.

“I went to bed knowing I sold 10 dates, and woke up to the news I was booked to do 50,” he added.  Jackson was due to kick off his much-awaited run at the 20,000-capacity venue on July 8.

Meanwhil AllGood Entertainment, based in New Jersey, filed suit in federal court in New York today accusing Jackson of reneging on a promise to appear with sister Janet and brothers Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Randy and

Two months after agreeing to the family concert, the suit claims, Michael inked a deal with competing promoter AEG Live to perform his 50-date comeback show in London, which kicks off July 13.

AllGood Entertainment has charged Jacko with $40 Million for breaching the contract .

In a statement to Access Hollywood, AEG said they ‘have elected to move back a few of the opening shows in order to meet the challenges presented by such a massive and technically complex show.’

Randy Phillips, CEO of AEG Live says ” As much as we agonized over thischange in the original schedule, we are sure the fans will understand….”

The problem is not that the fans are not understanding enough, the issue is that re-scheduling people don’t understand the impact of changing dates to such an extent – From July 2009 to March 2010. Few days delay is acceptable but nine months delay is just too much.

A website has already sold over 10,000 tickets for the pop-star’s shows at an average price of 400 pounds. And desperate fans are paying the rip-off prices after places at the pop oddball’s 50 gigs at the O2 Arena sold
out in three days, reports The Daily Star.

Many fans claimed that owing to glitches, they could not pay the standard 50 pounds to 75 pounds on the official Ticketmaster site.

In the first quarter of 2009, the erstwhile King of Pop himself helped sales at fan-to-fan exchange site Seatwave rocket by 200 percent.

The average price on Seatmaster has been rising everyday, with a 100 pounds hike yesterday alone. The most expensive tickets for the premium “Thriller package” were priced at 5,500 pounds.

In fact, touts are also using eBay to cash in on the rage, and have been selling a pair of VIP tickets for 16,000 pounds.

The Jacko, 50, will play his last ever gigs between July 8 and February 24.  (ANI)

‘Twilight’, based on the book by Stephenie Meyer, will compete for prizes including Best Movie, Best Female Performance for Kristen Stewart, and Breakthrough Performance Male for both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ stars Freida Pinto and Dev Patel are also up for the Breakthrough Performance accolades, while the film will go up against ‘Twilight’, ‘The Dark Knight’, ‘Iron Man’ and ‘High School Musical 3: Senior Year’ in the Best Movie category.

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway (Bride Wars), Angelina Jolie (Wanted) and Kate Winslet (The Reader) join Stewart in the Best Female  Performance line-up, and Zac Efron (High School Musical 3), Shia LaBeouf (Eagle Eye) and Robert Downey, Jr. (Tropic Thunder) will fight it out for the Best Male Performance title.

Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana: The Movie) and Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical 3) will go head-to-head for the Breakthrough Performance Female award, while Cyrus is also nominated for Best Song From a Movie for Hannah Montana.

Mark Burnett, who produces the freewheeling ceremony, said either film has a great chance of winning best picture.

“”Twilight” has “certainly touched a part of America and young girls are totally in love with what the movie stands for and  (with) romance,” Burnett said.

“On the other hand, I have to say, all of my kids loved `Slumdog Millionaire.’ There’s just something so uplifting about what that movie stands for,” he added. (ANI)

Cyrus revealed her stance on being quizzed by blogger Perez Hilton, who reached out to top celebrities after attacking Miss California Carrie Prejean for her anti-gay marriage stance at the Miss USA pageant over the weekend.

Hilton, who was judging the beauty contest, asked the Carrie for her thoughts on same sex marriage and was aghast when Prejean revealed she believed marriage should be between a man and a woman.

After which he asked multifarious celebrities including Cyrus about their say on the whole issue.  ”Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! thats like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz hes gay and that is wrong and very sad! like i said everyone deserves to be happy (sic),” Contactmusic quoted Cyrus, as stating on her Twitter page.

On the other hand Shana Moakler, who was Carrie’s mentor before the pageant, revealed she was pretty upset by Carrie’s answer and is not in talking terms with her ever since. “I don’t know how you can call a gay man or woman your friend and not want them 2 have the same joys as yourself. In my family we believe in equal rights for all. I am sad and hurt,” Moakler stated on her Twitter page.

“It’s one thing to have an opinion – I am very opinionated and have dealt with backlash from it – it’s another to alienate people who cared about u,” Moakler added. (ANI)

In an emotional performance, the ex-Beatle dedicated The Long and Winding Road and My Love to Linda. He played a two-and-a-half hour set for 75,000 fans on the first night of one of the biggest festivals in the US.

Macca said that initially he was reluctant to perform on the death anniversary of his late wife but eventually agreed.

“Linda introduced me to the desert because she used to go to Arizona a lot, so I just fell in love with it,” the BBC quoted him as saying.

“At first I thought, oh god, I can’t do a show on that day. But then it was like, well, no, it’s the desert, it’s music, it’s rock ‘n’ roll… I’m doing it for Linda tonight,” he added. (ANI)

The pop girl group, who are slated to tour Australia next month, was reportedly proposed with a totalling 120,000-dollar figure to show up at after-show parties.

According to Insider, the girls turned down the offer for the bashes in four capital cities, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Their rep said in an email that the girls were worth more than the offered amount especially keeping in mind the gigantic scale of promotion and sponsorship involved in the tour.

The band was said to have banked a staggering 75,000 pounds as VIP guests at a Paris event. (ANI)

Scores of aspiring catwalk queens had gathered outside the Park Central Hotel to audition for The CW show, open to women under 5-feet-7 for the first time.

Lined up models ran for their lives, subsequently tumbling over barricades after an overheating black BMW sparked shouts, “There’s a bomb!”

“The girls were running like it was 9/11 part two. I feared for my life,” The New York Daily News quoted Jennifer Brown, 27, Brooklyn, as saying.

Kiara McCarthy, 19, of Levittown, L.I, added: “The metal barricade fell down. All of a sudden we heard this roar from behind us and we looked behind us and there’s a wave of people falling on top of us.”

Rose, of Scranton, Pa further said: “We all fell on top of each other. People were squished against the wall, screaming, ‘I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe!’”

The chaos landed two women in hospital while authorities took in two others and one man for inciting a riot.

A CW rep said: “Representatives of The CW are working and cooperating with local authorities on the matter.”

Meanwhile, many women were left facing disappointment after the audition was brought to an end following the stampede.

McCarthy said: “I’m 5-foot-3. There’s no way I can make it into a model agency. They would turn me away at the door. We had an opportunity and it was taken away from us.” (ANI)
