Be it ego-problems or filmy-rivalry, it’s no surprise that the two have their differences and the fans would be over the moon if Danny Boyle succeeds in bringing them together in his ‘Bombay Velvet.’ Mr. Perfectionist & King Khan did join hands recently to negotiate terms between the film fraternity and the multiplex-owners. That, certainly, gave the tabloid something to chew at.
But, come December, and you may find them in the same frame if they attend Paa’s premiere as both have assured their presence in the much-anticipated event. Hopefully, on 3rd December, they shed their differences and pose together to the extreme delight of the cameraman.

The movie which was released on Nov 6th 2009 shows an overweight, illiterate  African-American teen  Claireece “Precious” Jones played by Gabourey Sidibe who lives in New York with her horrible family. Her mother mentally abuses her while she is consistently raped by her father and even impregnated twice! It’s till the time she meets her high school Principal Mrs. Lichtenstein when she gets a hope to change her life to another direction.

She finds a new way to look at the world with her imagination and fantasies. While being raped, she begins to imagine herself shooting for a music video and she is the superstar there! When she looks at the photo album, she imagines the snaps talking to her. She looks at the mirror to see herself as a pretty blonde. She imagines living in another world where she is loved and appreciated by all unlike her real life!

Later she learns to read. She gives birth to Abdul, her second child by her father. But her mother intentionally drops Abdul and abuses Precious. It is then she leaves her house and starts staying with her son till her mother re-enter her life only to inform that her father has died of AIDS. She too learns that she is infected with HIV positive, but thankfully not Abdul. The film ends with her struggle to improve the lives of her family members.

Sadly, all “Precious” don’t really have the same luck. The recent case of Shaniya Davis is a pathetic and horrible repeat of the Hollywood flick only with a much dreadful twist at the end.

Some bloggers blamed the movie for media coverage of such a crime and have concluded that Shaniya’s case and alikes are all inspired from films like these.

Coming to the film this actor had great time working for his home production! There’s a lot of camaraderie between Abhishek and him. Not only this he even fooled around with his son on the sets and admits that this is what they usually do when home!
He observed his grandchildren and how they behave at home since he is playing a 13year old! When asked that whether he tried to remember his childhood or not he said that children then and children now have hell lot of difference! He also revealed that Abhishek was a brat when he was 13 years of age! Now that sounds interesting.

Talking about his makeup for the role of Auro he said that it took 6 and 1/2 hrs to put the cylindrical helmet on and off! Not only this he was not in position to eat or do something else with that make up on. Now that’s too much for 64years old actor! But he has done it all!

He has also talked about sharing notes with Aamir and Shahrukh, taking suggestion or giving it back. To talk about their ventures. He expects them to be on the premiere of the show on Dec 3rd.

We expect that Auro wins every heart and break all records and wins Oscars which is known as the Mecca for the Film industry.

We can run the whole history of Hollywood, including the ‘Ben Hur’s, the ‘Ten Commandment’s’, ‘the ‘Roman Holliday’s’ and a host of other classic fares, and yet has a movie met with such critical acclaim as the legendary 1964 drama.

The film which essentially portrays a universal yet controversial subject at the time, of miscegenation, still evokes or elicits the same emotions in the audience as it did generations back. The movie starred Richard Mulligan, Barbara Barrie and Bernie Hamilton among others.

The movie tells the story of a married woman, played by Barbara Barrie who separates from her husband, played by Richard Mulligan and goes on to marry an African American, played by Bernie Hamilton following a  brief affair. However, when the battle for the child’s custody moves to court, the judge prejudicially rules in favor of the natural father, on the ground that the child, impressionable as he is, can hardly have a proper upbringing in a ‘mixed’ household. This sets off a chain of unforgettable dramatic sequences, as the ‘colored’ father vows to take on the prejudiced system and fight for his parental rights.

At a time when the famous ‘Civil Rights Movement’ inspired by the venerable Rev. Martin Luther King, was on the cusp of bringing about a cultural transformation in the United States of America from a racially motivated to racially tolerant society, this epic movie, depicting a ‘colored’ father’s fight for his parental rights, sure brought home the message of universal brotherhood and tolerance sans color or race.

And the legacy of ‘One Potato – Two Potato’ continues to live on.

Well there are many interesting facts about the movie. Harold has fallen ill and his ogre son-in-law Shrek and daughter Fiona are supposed to be the successor of the throne. Shrek insisted that, an ogre can’t be the king and that there has to be someone else for the job. With his final few breaths, the king tells Shrek that there is one other heir who can become the new King of Far Far Away: his nephew, Arthur.

Shrek sets out to find this new king, along with Donkey and Puss in Boots. As they’re sailing off, Fiona runs to the dock and announces to Shrek that he’s going to be a father. Shocked, Shrek begins to have nightmares about his future children on the journey to Worcestershire Academy, where they eventually discover that “Artie,” who is an academy student, is a loser picked on by the other students – even the nerds. Artie is initially thrilled to be the new king, and excited to be on his way to the throne, until Donkey and Puss inadvertently scare him by talking about things like plague and famine. Panicked, Artie tries to take control of the ship and ends up crashing it on an island where they meet Artie’s retired wizard teacher, Merlin.

Meanwhile, a vengeful Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) has gone to the Poison Apple Bar, where he encounters a slew of fairy tale villains including Captain Hook (Ian McShane), the Evil Queen (Susanne Blakeslee), a Cyclops (Mark Valley), Rumpelstiltskin (Conrad Vernon), Mabel the Ugly Stepsister (talk show host Regis Philbin), the Headless Horseman (Conrad Vernon), Stromboli the Puppet Master (Chris Miller), and an assortment of outlaws, black knights, pirates, ents, and witches. Although they initially despise Charming, he persuades them to fight for their “happily ever after”.

The villains feel their side of the story has never been told and now is the time to do it. Charming and the other villains invade the kingdom and pillage for a time before attacking the castle, disrupting Fiona’s baby shower. They capture all of Shrek’s fairy tale friends (Gingerbread Man, Pinocchio, The Big Bad Wolf (a cross between the three little pigs and Little Red Riding Hood’s wolf), The Three Blind Mice and The Three Little Pigs, Dragon, and Donkey and Dragon’s children. Fiona and Lilian try to escape through an underground passage, along with Doris the Ugly Stepsister, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel; the ladies are captured, and however, when Rapunzel betrays them and leads them into a trap. They learn that she is in love with Charming, who plans to make her his queen once he claims the throne.

Captain Hook and some of his pirates track Shrek and company to Merlin’s island, where they attempt to capture Shrek and kill the others. They find that Charming is bent on revenge against Shrek for ’stealing’ his “happily ever after,” and plans to kill.

Shrek tells Charming that Artie was just a patsy to take his place as King of Far Far Away. Charming believes Shrek and decides not to kill the boy. Artie, who had just been growing to trust Shrek, is crushed by this and runs away. Donkey and Puss are thrown into the tower with Fiona and the other ladies. Elsewhere, Donkey and Puss work to free Gingy, Pinocchio, the wolf and pigs, Dragon, and the Dronkey. As the kingdom watches, Charming stages a theatrical performance in which he heroically rides to the rescue of Rapunzel in her (fake) tower and sings, somewhat badly. To Charming’s profound annoyance, the chained Shrek wins the audience’s support by ridiculing his singing and acting. Just as Charming is about to kill Shrek, Fiona and her friends, along with Puss, Donkey and the Fairy Tale characters, leap onto the stage to confront the villains. It goes awry, however, as the villains largely outnumber the heroes and take them prisoner again. In the nick of time, Artie arrives and convinces the villains to stop and turn over a new leaf, proving himself to possess effective leadership skills. He says a word of wisdom-”Just because some people treat you like a loser, it doesn’t mean you are one. The thing that matters most is what you think of yourself. If there is something you really want or someone you really want to be then you are standing in your own way.” The villains drop their weapons and release their captives. Charming, furious at having been thwarted by this boy, lunges for him with his sword. Shrek blocks the blow and appears to take it in his own chest, leading Charming to exult; the attack missed, however, and the sword is lodged harmlessly under Shrek’s arm. Shrek informs Charming that he needs to keep looking for his own happily ever after, “because I’m not giving up mine.” Dragon slyly knocks over Rapunzel’s tower, which lands on Charming, and the crowd cheers. Charming’s crown is sent rolling across the stage by the impact and is caught by Artie. Shrek tells him that the throne is his if he wants it, but it is his decision to make. Artie lifts the crown toward the audience, who cheer him loudly, and then sets it on his own head. While the kingdom celebrates their new monarch, Merlin appears and restores Puss and Donkey to their proper bodies, though their tails remain switched.

As Far Far Away is left in the capable hands of young King Arthur, Shrek retires with Fiona to their swamp, having three ogre babies.

The last time Oscars saw five nominations in 2002, reports the Telegraph.

Some of the films, which have made the cut, are ‘Up’, ‘Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs’ and ‘Monsters vs. Aliens.’

Now these films need to complete in a weeklong theatrical run in Los Angeles to qualify for the Oscars.

Academy rules for the category also state that a “significant number of the major characters must be animated, and animation must figure in no less than 75 percent of the picture’s running time.”

Some more films enlisted for the award are, ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel,’ ‘Astro Boy,’ ‘Battle for Terra,’ ‘Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.’ (ANI)

Holly Wood insider reported these figures for Europe:

France: No. 1 with 488,000 admissions, translating to $4.26 million (U.S.);
Italy: partial returns put the movie’s gross at $2.7 million and on target to be the third-highest opening after two Harry Potter movies;

Spain: $2.2 million and also a third-biggest opening after the boy wizard;
Australia was $1.7 million in advance sales. It ended its opening with $5 million in the cash register.
On being asked about the spectacular turnout, Grand 10 manager Amela Cheng told us she hasn’t quite seen anything like it before!

There have been few minor changes like – the wolves will get ample screen space in New Moon unlike last year’s Twilight, the look and style of the film after new director Chris Weitz came on board the franchise has significantly changed.
There are some bigger changes as well, like Taylor Lautner’s (Jacob Black in the movie) has gone through a major physical change. He is all beefed up and super muscular now.

The movie won’t disappoint the Twilighter’s for sure. In the movie, Bella is separated from her vampire boyfriend against her wish. Bella is left unprotected and exposed to wandering vampires who are pretty angry of Bella’s former lover’s family as they barbequed some of their friends. After Edward’s departure, she is left emotionally shatter and cuts off ties from her friends and family.

Taylor Lautner Bella’s childhood friend Jacob Black turns up and Bella’s wounds begin to slowly heal when Jacob comes back into her life. The director has done a fabulous job with Jacob and his wolf pack brothers. The wolves are pretty good and are convincing enough to portray that they are outsiders with a secret agenda of living. The young wolves have some funny moments too.

Weitz has done an incredible job with the secondary cast, making all the characters felt needed and there was not a single moment where Bella’s friends and others felt unneeded.

Weitz was taken mainly because of his experience with digital creatures on The Golden Compass and he proved his worth by portraying astounding bear-sized werewolves, amazing fight sequences and the compelling human side of the wolves added a tremendous touch to his craftsmanship.

The Edward Bella romance was portrayed in a soul less fashion (vamps don’t have soul), for example when Robert and Kristen reunite, he acts every bit as robotic and gloomy as his co-star. You won’t see those emotions flowing and that’s how it is supposed to be.

The movie was overall good and nothing astounding, people must go grab a bite at this for sure but don’t expect anything too much out of it.

The subject of the movie is well chosen, so are the actors! Hats off to Karan Johar for his remarkable works! Debutant director Rensil D’Silva is praiseworthy for his intense graph throughout the movie. And absolutely wonderful is the onscreen chemistry between Saif and Kareena where their real-life love is showing.

Renil D’Silva has successfully displayed the two stories back to back on celluloid. One is love story between Kareena and Saif and second one is a terrorist. Songs of the movie has already gained popularity while Kareena’s bare back poster has already hogged controversy in Mumbai. Worth mentionable is Vivek Oberoi’s brilliant performance and the movie could prove a comeback for his career.

The story goes like this – Ehsaan (Saif) and Avantika (Kareena) are lecturers in Delhi University. Avantika is a US return for her ailing father. They fall for each other. 6months later, Avantika gets a call from US University telling her to come back. She asks Ehsaan to come along who agrees. They get married and shift to US in an Indian neighborhood. Avantika witnesses some terrorism there which was headed by Om Puri, the Muslim fundamentalist. It is soon revealed that Avantika is a pawn to conspiracy and feels trapped. She secretly seeks help from a television reporter Riyaaz (Vivek Oberoi) who attempts to infiltrate the terrorist outfit to foil their big plan.

What happens next? Well…get your tickets booked and watch it now before they are sold out!

With the movie set to come out on Friday, ‘New Moon’ featuring ‘rumored’ couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart  is expected to easily out do the earlier franchise ‘Twilight’ in the opening week itself. ‘Twilight’ had grossed an estimated $ 69.6 million world wide.

Looks like the pair of Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are set for another bonanza at the box office.

There are around 8 songs in the album – Gumm Summ, Gali Mudi Ittefaq, Hichki Hichki, Mudi Mudi and Mere Paa to name a few. The song Mere Paa has been sung by none other than the legend himself. Yes, we are talking about Mr Amitabh Bachchan!

It was suggested to Amitabh that the song be recorded in his normal voice and later be touched technologically. But Amitabh was firm about singing by his own in a child like voice with any help. He did that and put many at the recording room stunned and thinking how he did it actually!

Aadesh Srivastava, the music director of the film praises, “Amitabh does not sound like a grown-up man imitating a child. Don’t ask me how he has managed to do it. I just sat there stunned.” He added that the song would be an immediate hit among children.

The other songs are sung by singers like Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shilpa Roy, while Ilayaraja’s chorus group sang Halke Se Bole and the Paa theme. The song Gumm Summ has been sung by R Bavatharini which has a childlike innocence in it.

Paa is an honest effort unlike anything else in the market. Simple, sweet melodies that strike a chord are hard to come by these days. Paa is one of the few albums that stay away from any gimmickry. This one is straight from the heart.

Mere Paa is ofcourse a must listen song which will keep you searching for Amitabh’s trademark baritone. It’s hard to recognize Big B’s voice and it shows what level of performance you can expect from him. I bet you had never heard anything like this before!

Of the intimate moment, Fanning says, “It was passionate. We’re playing Joan Jett and Cherie Curie and they’re best friends in the film and became really close in real life. And that’s something that went down back in the ‘70s.” “We became really close — like we’d known each other our whole lives. We talk all the time…The relationship that Joan and Cherie have in the script is kind of the one that Kristen and I have in real life — minus the destructive part.”

She continued, “We were so into the scene and into the script and the characters.”  Now that is something hot and sexy for the audience! On the other hand these two kissers are playing opposite each other in New Moon which releases today at the theaters.

Heavily borrowed from the Indian author Chetan Bhagat’s best-seller ‘Five point someone’, the plot of 3 idiots revolve around 3 engineering students who lose their way in a battle to cope with their demanding academic schedule. The 3 friends Hari, Ryan and Alok (portrayed by Amir, Sharman Joshi and Madhavan) go haywire as they decide to lead their college life on their own terms and finally find themselves in a tangled web. Directed by the popular Raju Hirani(of Munnabhai fame), the film also stars the powerhouse-of-talent Boman Irani(who plays the headmaster once again) & the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor , whose sizzling chemistry with co-star Amir is the talk of the town as they dance themselves to euphoria under the good, old rain.

The trailers have been on air for quite  some time now and are garnering huge responses from the frenzied fans all across the globe. Expectations are building up fast and it will reach a monstrous monumental size by the time Santa Claus arrives. Will Amir deliver again ???

Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that “avatar” was one of the central themes of Hinduism and insensitive handling of faith traditions sometimes resulted in pillaging serious spiritual doctrines and revered symbols and hurting the devotees.

Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, explains that “Avatar”, a Sanskrit term, means descent or incarnation.

Hinduism is shaped by its traditional belief in the incarnation of Vishnu (the Preserver in Hindu trinity) into ten forms to establish dharma (divine law), which include Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parasurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Kalki (believed to come at the end of present Kaliyuga).

Hindus believe that without such intervention, the entire created universe would have gone into decline. Many devotees also regard their respective Gurus as incarnations of the Divine.

Budgeted around 230 million dollars, ‘Avatar’, an upcoming digital 3-D science fiction feature film, is directed and written by Canada born three Oscars winning James Francis Cameron, 55, of highest-grossing and 11 Oscars carrying ‘Titanic’ fame.

In it, a band of humans, two centuries in the future, are pitted in a heroic battle against a distant planet’s indigenous population.

It is due to be released in France-Egypt-Belgium on December 16 and USA on December 18 next.  (ANI)

‘Paranormal Activity’ rounded off the top five with 8.6 million dollars.

As the title of the film suggests, ‘Jail’ is a film much to the affect of showing the ordinary man what lies behind those deadly dark doors.

The story goes like this-Neil (Parag Dixit) is into a sales job, busy trying to meet his targets and having some good moments with Mughda (Mansi) an air hostess. Then suddenly due to a series of events Parag gets caught up in a false allegation which lands him to jail.

The jail scenes are shot very realistically. Parag Dixit is the protagonist who is very frustrated as his bail is not granted and he is not allowed to open his mouth to say a word in his own defense. His frustrations keep building up and he gets violent at times. The description of the dark over crowded jail is considerably scary. Mughda (Mansi) has nothing much to do except be a supportive girlfriend and to shed tears and console Parag. Manoj Bajpai plays a prisoner called Nawab, who develops a soft corner for Parag, but has nothing much to do either, except give soulful glances to Parag.

The realistic descriptions of fight for little water, food which would hardly be edible, the under currents of the under world are all a little nerve rattling. The “Anda cell” scene was particularly scary.

Even though, the performances are all at par, Neil is definitely good, so is Manoj Bajpai, albeit his role had less dialogue, he managed a good depiction. Arya Babbar is quite convincing with his tough looks.

The movie on the whole is a hard hitting realistic one, but the magic of Madhur’s earlier movies-‘Page 3’, ‘Chandni Bar’, ‘Fashion’, etc., is missing. In ‘Jail’, however the horror does not get to the point of being horrific; rather, the plot seems to be too simplistic.

The three times National award winner has not delivered it up to those levels of expectations and the audiences even though were touched, they were not able to reach the poignancy level.

Somehow one fails to relate to the protagonists’ pain and frustrations. On the whole one should watch it to see what life behind those bars can be like and nothing more.

Going by the title of the film there is no ‘ghazab’ story. Having said that the story line has nothing new in it – it is rather one which is typical bollywood.

The story goes like this –Ranbir (Prem) is a happy go lucky guy whose dad is fed up of telling him to take life more seriously. But he inevitably falls in love with Katrina (Jenny). Just as he was planning to spill the beans on her there is a ‘kabab mein haddi’, that is –he comes to know she likes another guy; ‘Upen Patel’
(Rahul)-this makes him shut up like a clamp. He tries helping her with her problems in the progress of the affair when she suddenly realizes her feelings for Prem instead.

Prem’s parents played by Darshan Jariwala and Smita Jaykar are very much a requisite and important part of the film, providing the punch lines to pep things up. Upen Patel with his anglicized Hindi is average. The film ends on a happy note. There are many hilarious moments in the film with the bad versus the good tug of war situations. The best part of the film is actually Ranbir Kapoor. He has indeed proved that he does belong to the ‘Kapoor Khandaan’, the real movie stalwarts of bollywood. Ranbir has become much better than the kid he was, and is very convincing in his role as a love struck lover who has a soft gullible heart. The comic timings of Ranbir are too good. His presence in every scene is very much a pleasure to watch and sometimes one just can’t help comparing him with his grand-father, while he jumps from one scene to another.

His dancing skills also are a perfect reminder of his dad. His knack for converting an ordinary scene into an interesting one comes across in many scenes. Katrina is very good eye candy and her scenes with Ranbir are good as far as their chemistry goes. Her acting skills are well presented like the scenes where they are upset, are quite amusingly shot. Even the ‘saawariya towel’ act was quite funny. It has been shot in exotic locations in Oty, Goa and Turkey and is shot wonderfully, especially the locations.

The music is very good and ‘Tera hone laga hoon’ beats it up. Yet the only attraction in the film is the ‘Kapoor puttar’ and Kat’s chemistry. We do hope that the audiences go in with not very high expectations but just with a hope of 150 minutes of pure entertainment. So go ahead and enjoy.

The movie is all about a story of a journalist (McGregor) who went to Iraq to prove his mental strength to his ex-wife. There he meets with a Psychic US soldier who was trained by a hippie trainer Billy (Bridges) to fight with adverse military situation using mind, peace and love. The entire story of the film is the story of these two men’s adventure together.

The whole movie can be divided into three parts according to the consequence and inner aspect of the message conveyed. The first part consists of different experience of the journalist and Lye while traveling in different parts of Iraq for the mission Lye is in. The second part portrays the creation and existence of psychic soldiers in US military. This part of the movie holds the main back-story or backbone of the story. This part also represents the character of Lyn and Billy nicely. The third part is the first person narration by Ewen McGregor where he gives his thought and vision to entire scenario and the experiences he shares with Lyn in the expedition.

The movie is unique in nature and enriched the excellent acting by entire cast.

The film has already stirred up some controversies as it is being said that it’s not a good representation of African-American women, plus sized women, or urban youth in general. We found Loren Pritchett, a student at Virginia Commonwealth University posting a bit different opinion on www.thegrio.com about the movie. She thinks: “Movies like this are double-edged swords in the black community. On one hand it serves as an informative vehicle for discussion, but at the same time casts a label across the black community as a whole, leaving audience members of the opposite race throwing us all into one big troubled category.”

Politically incorrect film critic Armond White from NYC has given thumbs down and quite some nasty thrashing to the movie. He not only criticized Daniel, but also did not forget to take a stab on Perry and Oprah. White said “Precious is an orgy of prurience…Not since ‘Birth of a Nation’ has a mainstream movie demeaned the idea of black American life as much as ‘Precious’.”

But hey, these are opinions of other people, why don’t you go out to the theatres and decide for yourself and let us know?

According to studio estimates, the film was the No. 1 Halloween thriller with a $21.3 million opening weekend. “This Is It” surely did well by getting a budget of $68.5 million overseas which included $10.4 million in Japan, $6.3 million in Germany, $5.8 million in France and $3.2 million in China.

Rory Bruer, the head of distribution for Sony said that Jackson is loved everywhere on the planet and every continent in the world loves Jackson and his music. “This Is It” features Jackson rehearsing his biggest hits for the London shows in behind-the-scenes performances just weeks before his death on 25th June 2009.

Paul Dergarabedian, box-office analyst said that the studio bet $60 million on MJ’s film and got $101 million in just five days. According to him it was like a gamble and a bet that paid off.

The actress further told about New Moon that the wolves in the movie are funny. They were a danger to the Cullen family but on the other hand, the wolves also protected the person they love so the Cullen family had to adjust with them. Though, the movie may be heavier on the action, Ashley said that fans of the series vampire-wolf love triangle won’t be disheartened.

Ashley said that Jacob comes to the rescue when Edward breaks Bella’s heart. Hence, viewers will get to see their chemistry. It keeps you a little bit more excited than the first movie because this one is more about heartbreak and healing. Ashley seemed proud of the new movie which was out in theaters on 20th November 2009.

It attracted everyone’s inner child by making them wonder how the secret life of toys would be like. Now, Pixar and Walt Disney have unveiled the trailer for Toy Story 3 their long awaited trip back to the toy box.

The latest news is that the Hollywood animator John Lasseter is ready to get a lifetime award from the Producers Guild of America. He will become the first animator to receive the David O Selznick honour.

The Guild said the award is to recognize Lasseter’s groundbreaking work with Pixar, and called him “a uniquely talented producer”, reports The BBC.

On 24th January, Lasseter, 52, who continues to oversee animation at Pixar, will collect his award at a ceremony. In 1995 ‘Toy Story ‘was the first full-length computer-animated movie to be produced.

Later the creator and director of ‘Toy Story’ supervised the production of its sequel ‘Toy Story II’, ‘Cars’ and ‘A Bug’s Life’. In fact, four films made by Pixar have gone on to win the Oscar for best animation.

Last month, at the Venice Film Festival ‘Star Wars’ director George Lucas presented Lasseter and his team with the lifetime achievement award.

There is a brilliant rehearsal footage shot while Jackson was preparing for his series of comeback for July 2009 concerts.  Taylor says the movie “cements forever Michael’s genius in every aspect of creativity” and she requests her fans to see it “again and again.”

It has emerged that the documentary has received a standing ovation from Elizabeth Taylor. People reports that the 77 year old longtime friend of late Michael, hosted a private screening of the documentary for several Jackson staff members, including his former assistant Miko Brando, at MGM Studios in L.A. last weekend.

Talking widely about the film Elizabeth Taylor spent around 40 minutes posting dozens of messages on her Twitter account after she saw a private screening on the Sony lot in Los Angeles on Monday.

The legendary actress gave the film two thumbs up after watching it according to Entertainment Tonight. A source revealed that Taylor, who attended Jackson’s funeral on 4th September, led a standing ovation at the end of the documentary.

Jackson died in June at age 50, just before he was to begin a 50-concert run in London. Michael Jackson’s This Is It” opens worldwide Tuesday night.

According to Daily Variety, screenwriter Gary Ross is currently writing Spider-Man 4 and negotiating a Venom deal with studio bosses at Columbia and Marvel Entertainment.

However, Topher Grace, who played the villain in the last Spider-Man movie, is unlikely to reprise his role as Peter Parker’s rival Eddie Brock/Venom, reports the Daily Express.

The character gets infected with an alien organism and develops superpowers.

The film beat Will Smith’s Men In Black, which ranked in the second place, followed by Independence Day at the third.

”E.T. is a film for the whole family. It is emotionally-charged, funny and engaging and will never be equalled in terms of its originality and global appeal,” the Telegraph quoted a spokesman for the website that carried out the study, as saying.

”It is a worthy winner and it actually beat a string of bigger budget movies to come top.

”This shows that quite often the golden oldies are better than more modern flicks,” the rep added.

“The recent slate of horror movies is pathetic,” said Rob Weiner.

“They aren’t scary. There’s nothing that captures the imagination. It’s like Hollywood ran out of ideas,” he added.

Weiner believes America’s next great scare will come from the ranks of Indie filmmakers, whose storytelling more often focuses on those little details like character development.

However, he isn’t holding out much hope.

“It probably isn’t going to happen in America,” he said.

“It will probably be someone we try to emulate, like we have with the Italians and Japanese in the past. Of course, I’m hoping someone proves me wrong,” he added.

Weiner is a Texas Tech author, librarian and instructor with expertise on topics ranging from the Grateful Dead to American presidents in film. He lectures on the history of horror cinema. (ANI)

According to the Star Online, a spokesman for the film distributor said the board did not give any reason for the ban on the sexually explicit movie.

However, Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim has said the censorship board needs to provide strong reasons to support its decision.

He said the board’s explanation must be based on “strong legal arguments” which may include human rights and religious values.

He added: “The board should not also throw the movie out without giving the submitting party a chance to explain themselves for scenes which may be deemed objectionable.”

Rais insisted that censorship must be reasonable because a movie could be rendered meaningless if it was severely filtered.

MSN Entertainment reports, the movie has been banned in Ukraine, Lebanon and Bahamas too.

In fact in Hong Kong, posters of Bruno have been banned in subway stations.

Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami said that the show should be banned because it promotes the use of marijuana.

He particularly targeted a recent episode in which a talking dog, called Brian, started a campaign to legalise the drug, reports the BBC.

He said that cable stations refusing to dump the show would be fined.

It is not the first time that President Hugo Chavez’ government has reacted badly to a cartoon.

Last year, The Simpsons was deemed unsuitable for children after officials decided it flouted regulations prohibiting “messages that go against the whole education of boys, girls and adolescents”. (ANI)

The original score from 1977 Star Wars film was composed by John Williams.

He has won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award and a Grammy Award for his work in all six Star Wars movies between 1977 and 2005.

The soundtrack from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, composed by James Horner, came second, followed by Vangelis’ haunting electro soundtrack for Blade Runner at the third place.

The Oscar winner will reportedly play Lady Mountbatten in the film.

Top Indian officials think that the project, partly based on a memoir by Mountbatten’s daughter Pamela, is “delicate”.

They want to check the script to make sure that it’s respectful towards the wife of the former Indian Viceroy.

Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed has welcomed the caution.

“While we welcome Hollywood attempts to show India’s history on the big screen, we’d urge the filmmakers to portray India’s historical events authentically,” Contactmusic quoted Zed as saying.

“We’d ask them not to re-imagine India’s history just for mercantile greed,” Zed added.

In What’s Your Rashee? Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Chopra will be seen in 12 different characters. Actor Harman Baweja plays the lead role in the film.

The film is based on a well-known novel ‘Kimball Ravenswood’ by Madhu Rye.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Chopra said she found the role of a Capricornian the most challenging in the film.

“The most difficult character for me to play in the movie was the role of a Capricorn, who is a fifteen-year-old girl and to play that role convincingly was very difficult for me without making a joke out of it. In reality you have to feel the emotion of the character when you watch the film. I think that was my favourite role because it was very challenging for me,” Chopra added.

Gowariker said that the tough part of making the movie was to adapt the novel into a screenplay.

“As far as the concept is concerned or the source material for the film, I am looking at the novel very intensely, Kimball Ravenswood. So for me that became the easy part because I did not have to worry about what kind of story. The tough part was to adapt that into screenplay for film, that was difficult because you cannot bring everything from a novel into the film. You have to make changes,” said Gowariker.

The film, What’s Your Rashee? is about a groom and his rendezvous with 12 prospective brides.

One of the best loved children stories, which first appeared in ‘The Book of One Thousand and One Nights’ has been adapted by film maker Sujoy Gosh to cater to the audience.

‘Aladin’ boasts of a commendable star cast, including Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Sri Lankan beauty queen Jacqueline Fernandez.

‘Aladin’ is the story of an orphan, Aladin, played by actor Riteish Deshmukh who lives in the city of Khwaish and is bullied since childhood by Kasim and his gang.

How his life takes a turn when he meets Jasmine played by Jacqueline, who gives him a magic lamp and what happens after that, forms the basic plot of the film.

Riteish Deshmukh, who has made a mark in comic roles, sounded quite excited to take a break from comedy and do something different.

“Aladin primarily is fun. It has romance, action and adventure, so it is complete family kind of a film. There will be funny bits, but it’s not the kind of stuff that I’ve done before,” Riteish said.

For Jacqueline, who is making her debut with this film, acting in a Hindi film was quite a tough thing to do.

“I would say its possibly one of the most challenging thing I’ve done in my life. It definitely was difficult to learn any language but I had a great team working with me. I had very cooperative co-stars and very cooperative director. It just made it all the more easier,” said Jacqueline.

The film seems a good mix of magic and action and promises to floor the audiences with its new storyline.

The film will release on October 30. (ANI)

The animated movie is only behind ‘Titanic’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings The Return of the King’ in terms of sales at the box-office.

With its total sales of 667 million dollars around the world, the movie overtook ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ over the weekend, reports Contactmusic.

The movie has performed far more robustly on the foreign market than it has on the domestic, where it has grossed almost 195 million dollars.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star confirmed last year that she had auditioned and begun singing lessons, reports the Telegraph.

Sir Cameron said: "I have two actresses as potential Elizas, one British, the other American. You’d know their names, but I’m not letting on."

The story of the film, directed by Joel Schumacher, revolved around recent graduates from Georgetown University in Washington DC. According to Hollywood Reporter, the new series will retain the old setting, and the restaurant from which the film took its name.

Dan Bucatinsky, the new show’s writer, thinks that the past film evoked "the feeling of bonding with your friends who become your surrogate family."

"It’s the feeling of that time in your life when everything is possible but you can’t figure out how to make it possible," the BBC News quoted him as saying. Schumacher is also among the show’s executive producers, alongside ‘Spider-Man 3′ actor Topher Grace.

Fox, 23, took to the internet with a joke public service announcement, urging school kids to resist peer pressure and be themselves, even if it means "killing and eating every boy at your school."

"Every year, thousands of kids entering our high schools, succumbing to terrible peer pressure. Let’s face it, high school can be tough and kids can be cruel. Picking on others for just being different," the Daily Express quoted her as saying in the comedy footage.

Weiz had to fight the rumors after actor Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Volturi leader Caius in the sequel, said there was a nude scene in the movie, reports News.com.au.

"We just all sit there, completely naked, for one scene," Bower told MTV. "Yeah, it’s me, Michael Sheen and Christopher (Heyerdahl); we just sit there, naked", Campbell added.

However, now the film’s helmer has rubbished the reports, saying: "Even though we do want the look of the Volturi to be a bit of a surprise, they are always – as in the book – fully clothed.

"Jamie (Campbell-Bower) has what you might call a dry sense of humor and almost managed to convince me – which is why he’s such a good actor."

Speaking to TheCelebrityTruth Weiz added: "I would like to put everyone’s mind at rest and let them know that the Volturi are not naked."

"I think a World War Two bombing raid in 3D would be neat," the Telegraph quoted him as saying. Jackson is presently shooting experimental three-dimensional aerial footage in New Zealand.

If his trials go well, he may remake The Dam Busters as the first war film to be shot using the new technology. The film commemorates the raids on key German dams during the Second World War. Christian Rivers, the man behind the animation in Jackson’s version of King Kong, is said to be assisting him on the 24million-pound project.

Jackson says that he wants viewers to feel his film to be "as authentic as possible and as close to the spirit of the original as possible".

"It’s been absolutely wonderful having the filming here. The Cathedral costs 5,000 pounds a day to run, that’s paying musicians, and keeping the building open," the Daily Star quoted Bairbre Lloyd, Cathedral operations manager, as saying.

Harry Potter fans from across the world visit the place adding to the revenue.

He said: "In terms of filming, without that revenue, we have to raise money from other sources. It’s a fabulous resource and a great income stream to have."

The site has been used in the last five wizard flicks too. "With the first two films, we had around 50,000 extra visitors, so it’s been really good for us."

The Quileute tribe, which believes to be descended from wolves, has alleged that the vampire flick offers a wrong portrayal of their history and is insulting to their community.

The movie reportedly shows members of the Quileute Nation turning from humans to werewolves to fight Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, and his fellow vampires.

However, the tribal lore has their ancestors changed forever from wolves into humans by a mysterious traveller.

"This could have been an opportunity to -educate the world on Quileute -history. But at best the movie-makers have taken a liberty," the Daily Star quoted Tribal Council member Anna Rose Counsell as saying.

The tribe living in isolated Pacific coast reservation of La Push, 109 miles from Seattle in Washington state, feels that the film will lead to intrusion of unwanted elements as tourists will flock to see the location of the shoot.

An elderly person of the community said: "Our heritage could be destroyed by an influx of outsiders and a tourism explosion." Another member added: "This was our secret world but now, because of Hollywood, everyone is getting to know about us."

However, there is conflict of ideas as the youngsters in the area plan to achieve maximum benefit through their sudden fame.

So, they have opened ritual Wednesday night drum-circles to outsiders. They have also build tourist resort for visitors who want to enjoy whale watching, fishing, hiking and storm watching. A three-hour Twilight boat tour is offered to fans who wish to see the films’ locations.
