The five-year-old was first reported missing on Nov. 10th, and then her body was found about 100 feet off a road southeast of Sanford, in central North Carolina.

Arrested in her case are two people, one of which is her mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, 25. Davis was arrested last Saturday on accusations of human trafficking, filing a false police report, and felony child abuse with respect to Shaniya, whom police say was rented out as a sex slave by her mother.

November 17, 2009: Antoinette Davis, Shaniya’s mother, reported to be pregnant, by her aunt.
November 20, 2009: Shaniya Davis cause of death determined by autopsy to be asphyxiation.

In addition to bringing the company hundreds of millions in revenue, Oprah Winfrey has provided a powerful boost to CBS’ TV syndication arm, establishing leverage with advertisers and creating a number of successful spinoffs.

Beyond just CBS, ad buyers said Oprah’s popularity and prime timeslot help drive the overall market for syndicated ad sales, pulling in advertisers who wouldn’t otherwise jump into talk shows, game shows and similar fare.

Thus it is a big loss for the entertainment industry. We will miss your show Oprah!

Heatherton is the daughter of the late vaudevillian Ray Heatherton. She appeared on The Perry Como Show as a regular. In her later years, she had performed in Las Vegas and acted in some TV shows and films. She appeared topless in “Bluebeard” and played Xaviera Hollander in “The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington”. She posed nude for Playboy magazine in 1977. Her most recent acting role was in the 2002 Damon Packard film “Reflections of Evil”.

She was married to Lance Rentzel, a wide receiver for the NFL Dallas Cowboys. In 1971 was arrested for some indecent exposure with a 10-year old girl. They separated shortly after that and got divorced in 1972.

Heatherton, now 65, could undoubtedly be voted one of the hottest sex symbols of her time. She had been nominated for Laurel Awards twice in 1964 and 1966 and placed 14^th and 13^th respectively. She was also nominated for the Golden Globes as the most promising newcomer for her role in “Twilight of honour”.

On Sunday it’d be revealed that Kamal Khan is not a contestant at all anymore, and not eligible to win Bigg Boss.”

The whole concept of the show is based on human psychology. Till now the shooting of the show has not started, but the buzz going around is that celebrities like Sanjay Dutt, Karishma Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Kapil Dev are scheduled to come for the mind analyzing show. It is also said that Sushmita Sen. might be roped in for the first episode of this mind boggling show. All we can do is wait with our breaths held to see what unfolds in each episode, what else?

Some said that the couple was very much a support for each other which was not fair for the others as they did not have emotional support. Some even went to the extent of saying that since the couple were trying to create a rift between each member of the house it was better that they should be out. Comparatively the reason for Vidoo’s nomination was that he had been rude to Sherlyn Chopra. Where as the reason for Ismail‘s name on the list was that he had hurt his wrist and so he should be sent home in order to be taken care of properly.

Now the best part was on the 30th day of the inmates at the house. Tanaaz was very much philosophical in her approach and she went about giving explanations to all about how she was not guilty. She asked her husband to keep his cool. The rest of the inmates were very confused.

They all got busy preparing for a task of enacting a play based on a story from the seventies.

The highlight of the show was that Claudia was given a last warning to learn Hindi and her dead line is this week. The tensed girl was seen crying as she wasn’t sure of how she would manage that. The others were busy consoling her. The day was full of tense under currents and emotions flying high. Rohit also cried and so did Tannaz. But what she told her husband was very touching. She told him not to feel bad for being nominated as her mother had always told her that, “It is better to be robbed than to be a robber.”

However, as the day came to a close all of them went to bed with heavy hearts. It is really a tense situation as the day of eviction draws closer. Now all are waiting to see which nominated member shall be evicted on Friday.

Warner Brothers are reportedly in touch with the show’s creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman to write and produce the film.

“Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen,” the News of the World quoted James Michael Tyler – who played Central Perk oddball Gunther in the series, as saying.

If the project goes through, Jennifer Aniston, Matt Leblanc, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer would be teaming up for the first time since the end of the final season in 2004.
 
A source said: “The cast haven’t set the world alight since the show finished. But this film could relight some of their flagging careers in a big way.
 
“But everyone knew the story had to be right and well written. Getting the creators on board was a massive step forward for the project.

“The show did lose a lot of its shine in the last few seasons, but with the actors all in the forties it would be a real interest to see how their characters have developed.”

Lisa Kudrow who plays ‘Phoebe’ seemed excited about the project.

She said: “It would be so fun to be with all those people again. But our show was not like Sex and the City – ours was multi-camera, in front of a live audience.

“It’s a completely different feel. You’d have to bring the tone down, and I don’t know how it would be. I’ll just stay open.” (ANI)

The sequel will purportedly feature Nicolas Cage, who starred as protagonist Johnny Blaze, a stunt motorcyclist who morphs into the demon vigilante Ghost Rider in the 2007 superhero film, reports Variety magazine.

It will allegedly be produced by Avi Arad, Michael De Luca and Steven Paul, with Gary Foster executive producer.

Model Kirsten Varley sparked a storm after she appeared completely nude for 30 minutes on the show, as a studio audience and viewers were encouraged to draw her by artist Gary Hume.

On receiving the complaints, Channel 4 insisted that the 12.30pm programme ‘Life Class: Today’s Nude’ was not sensational at all and was purely educational.

But dozens of viewers bombarded their switchboard, saying it was pornography. One such watcher was writer Punteha Yazdanian, 23, who was in her sick bed watching daytime TV. "It nearly gave me a relapse," the Sun quoted her as saying.

"I was disgusted by the sight of Kirsten flaunting her charms in a very suggestive way. This was adult viewing – not for screening in the middle of the day," she said.

Other viewers argued that total nudity should only be shown after the 9 o’clock watershed in the evening.

The channel is showing five life-drawing classes throughout the week – each with a different model and tutor to tell viewers about art and drawing techniques.

But Alan Kane, the artist who came up with the idea for the programme, defended the show.

"Because it is educational and non-sexualised nudity, Channel 4 didn’t have any concerns with it at all," he said.

In the study, Dr. Stephen Want, an Assistant Professor in Ryerson’s Department of Psychology, wanted to measure how television shows made university-aged women feel about their overall appearances.

"Our study showed two things. First, people have the tendency to make rapid comparisons of themselves to images on television programs even when they don’t think they are being affected. Second, when we are reminded that ‘real life’ doesn’t resemble what is seen on TV, and we can look at things with a critical eye, the comparisons become less relevant," said Want.

He claimed that the project filled a gap in contemporary body-image research.

He said: "There’s a lot of talk about the effect of media images on people’s satisfaction with their appearance. But the term ‘media images’ is used as a catch-all phrase. Most research focuses on fashion magazines and television commercials; we wanted to see if other images on TV achieved the same result."

The researchers recruited 76 undergraduate women, and assigned them to one of four groups. Each group viewed a 10-minute clip of Friends in which thin and physically attractive characters played a prominent role, but their physical appearance was not especially emphasized.

And, unlike some episodes – where Monica’s adolescent weight problem is occasionally mentioned – this particular segment contained no appearance-related jokes or references. The researchers wanted to gauge participants’ satisfaction with their overall appearance after watching Friends.

However, before viewing the segment, two of the groups were asked to read intervention material on appearance and also on weight and shape.

Both sets of intervention materials were intended to convey the message that idealized images of women on TV are unrealistic and unattainable. The researchers found that watching the segment had a significantly adverse effect on the participants’ satisfaction with their own appearance.

However, reading the intervention material seemed to mitigate some of those feelings. The study titled, ‘The Influence of Television Programs on Appearance Satisfaction: Making and Mitigating Social Comparisons to Friends’, has been published in the journal Sex Roles.

Just ten days after birth, Jorge Luis was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis, a congenital birth defect characterized by the premature closure of the bones in the skull, and has endured numerous surgeries to correct the condition. As a result, in the fall of 2000, the Posada family created The Jorge Posada Foundation to promote awareness about Craniosynostosis and provide emotional assistance to families with children affected by this condition through its Mentors Program.

In 2006 both Jorge and Laura further received the 2006 Puerto Rican Family Foundation Excellence Award for their commitment to children, especially those affected by Craniosynostosis.

Her twitter page describes her as "Co-Founder of The Jorge Posada Foundation, began her career as an author, whole health coach, model and actress in the mid 1980s."

Treadwell had described himself as an aspiring actor, recovering alcoholic, drug addict, and eco-warrior. He attributed his recovery from drug and alcohol addictions entirely to his relationship with bears.

In October 2003, Treadwell and his girlfriend, a physician’s assistant, Amie Huguenard, visited Katmai National Park in Alaska. It seems that he stayed in the park later than his normal stay and when bears were becoming more aggressive. Perhaps, this led to bears attacking them. On October 6, the bodies of Treadwell and Huguenard were discovered.

A video camera was found at the site which contained the Timothy Treadwell death audio although there was no video. The tape is now the property of Jewel Palovak and has not been released to the public.

Treadwell’s life, work and death were the subject of the 2005 documentary film by Werner Herzog titled Grizzly Man.

Only 12 episodes of the 1970s sitcom about a grumpy hotelier were ever made. Cleese, who wrote the tales of Basil Fawlty with ex-wife and co-star Booth, said he had to work for 43 weeks – “writing, performing and filming” – to make each of the two series.

Cleese said: “It took so much energy to do that show. I think everyone would be excited if we did it [a new series]. The problem is, when you do do something that is generally accepted as being very good, a horrible
problem arises which is, how do you top it?

“The expectation of what you will do is so high.” Cleese and Booth – who played waitress Polly Sherman – had taken the decision jointly to stop at two series, he said.

“We both felt we’d done our best and we just knew that, if we did it, it wouldn’t be as good. It would be good but not very good,” he explained. (ANI)

Gokey married his girlfriend of 7 years sophia in 2004. In July 2008, four weeks before he auditioned for American Idol, his wife Sophia underwent routine surgery for congenital heart disease. It was the third surgery she had, but she died from complications. They had been together for eleven years and he credits her for his success.

ITV bosses are looking into capitalising on the 48-year-old Scottish singer’s worldwide fame, and she has been chosen for a starring role in the hit reality show after hosts Ant and Dec, both 33, put her name forward.

Bosses reckon Boyle would be perfect in the Aussie Outback and would pull in bumper ratings as millions of her fans tune in to watch her antics.

And her global success, particularly in the States, could also widen the show’s appeal and attract millions of viewers in America and Australia.

“Susan would be TV gold if she went in the jungle. She’s the biggest celebrity of the year so far,” the Daily Star quoted a show source as saying.

“I don’t think there’s anyone in the country who doesn’t know who she is.

“Having her in the jungle would be a massive boost, not to mention helping us attract audiences from around the world.

“Every one of those millions of people who logged on to the web to see her would go to our website to see what she’s doing.

If we sold advertising on the clips it’d be worth a fortune,” the source stated. But it is not just the prospect of millions in revenue that is making Boyle such a popular choice for a spot, as telly bosses think she would be a brilliant contestant in the outback.

“Susan has got a great sense of humour which would be great to have in the jungle,” the source said.

Director JJ Abrams said that bringing back Shatner might irk film fans who saw his character die. “His character died in one of the (Star Trek) films and we wanted to be consistent,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“Everyone says – the Trek fans – if you’re gonna do a Trek film, you need to be consistent. He died,” Abrams added.

Abrams also said he did offer Shatner a role in his new film, but explained it could only be a cameo.

“It was clear that he didn’t wanna just do a cameo, so to create a story which was in the movie, it would have been reworking everything (sic),” he said.
But Abrams insists he didn’t purposefully snub the original Kirk: “I love William Shatner.” (ANI)

Goody had passed away in March following a battle with cervical cancer, and after the amazing public outpouring of emotion over her death, bosses at Channel 4 have decided to make a one-off show focusing on her.

A senior source has leaked details of the show, which will be a “celebration of her life rather than a sad look backwards”. “We weren’t going to do a dedicated show on Jade because she had only just died and everyone was a little overwhelmed by it all,” the Daily Star quoted the source as saying.

“It took a few weeks for her death to truly sink in. But it was clear from the support Jade and her family got from the public that there is great affection for her.

“We are planning a series of shows to mark our 10th anniversary and it would be a real shame not to give Jade her own show – separate from the others,” the source added. The documentary, which will be screened on C4’s sister channel E4, will chart her rise to fame from the moment she stepped inside the BB house in 2002.

Producers will use an array of clips showing her funniest moments, including her stripping during a drinking game and her undercover clinch with PJ Ellis, 28.

They will also document her shock return to the house in 2007 when she famously clashed with Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty, 32, sparking a huge race row. Max Clifford, Jade’s publicist and close friend, said on April 30 that he was thrilled about the change of heart. “There is certainly a lot to celebrate,” he added. (ANI)

Cowell, 49, also said that the spot is guaranteed to anyone who wins ITV1’s hit talent show.

“I would say to anybody who won the British show that we guarantee them a spot on the American show. I think that’s a great incentive. So if it is Susan, yes,” the Sun quoted him as saying.

Should she win the British show, Boyle, 48, will have to face Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and David Hasselhoff as judges on America’s Got Talent. (ANI)

Known for his curt remarks, Cowell said that he can’t make up his mind about Abdul. “Paula’s frustrating, she’s annoying and I can’t understand half of what she’s talking about — but there’s incredible  comfort between us,” Us magazine quoted him as telling TV Guide.

He added: “I think we’re possibly secretly in love with each other.” However, he doesn’t share the same warm feelings for other judge Kara DioGuardi.

When asked if the fourth judge will be back next year, Cowell said: “I would imagine so. The only say I have is about Ryan [Seacrest], Randy [Jackson] and Paula. I’ve always made it clear that I wouldn’t like to do the show without them.”

However, Cowell, who also judges on ‘The X-Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, may not be around to see another season of ‘Idol’.

“I think nine seasons is a lot. I’ve had the best time ever in my life, and then you consider doing something new or taking a break,” he said.  (ANI)
