Irish actor Liam Neeson has been hailed by director Atom Egoyan as ‘heroic’ after he returned to the Canadian set of ‘Chloe’ just days after his wife Natasha Richardson passed away.
The Irish actor Liam Neeson finished the pending shots of his upcoming thriller Chloe in Toronto in less than two weeks of loosing his wife Natasha Richardson
Egoyan, 48, revealed that it had been a “harrowing experience” for all involved, and that the only way the 56-year-old actor could have done it was because of the support he got from his loved ones.
“He called me and said, ‘You know let’s do it right away.’ It was really emotional,” People magazine quoted Egoyan as telling ET Canada.
“I think the only way he could have come back was right after because his family was all there to support his boys.
“Liam is heroic. He came back and finished,” he said.
The director went to say that Neeson, who has signed on for his first movie role since Richardson’s death at age 45, is still “in a state of shock”.
“I think he’s trying to absorb [what's happened] … He’s suddenly a single parent with absolutely no preparation for that,” he said.
“But Neeson is surrounded by people that really love him. There is a lot of support,” he added.
Natasha Richardson was declared dead on March 18 , two days after falling during a beginner’s ski lesson at the Mont Tremblant ski resort . Her death was determined to be due to an epidural hematoma (pressure on the brain from a buildup of blood in the skull) caused by blunt impact to the head. (Agencies)
