‘Dickhead’ Warne says he was often in drunken stupor during 2005 Ashes

Former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne has candidly admitted that during the 2005 Ashes tour, he often got drunk and cried himself to sleep, unable to deal with the collapse of his marriage and his of-field antics, including sex-related romps.
 
In an article for the Daily Telegraph newspaper, the cricket legend reveals that after dominating events on the field he would return to his hotel room at night and drink himself into a stupor, the remorse and guilt gnawing at him.
 
His marriage to Simone had disintegrated and if the UK tabloids were to be believed, Warne had more lovers than Casanova.
 
“At night I’d lay there and go `s…, when am I going to see my kids? There were times I’d sit there and drink my mini bar until three in the morning just to get to sleep. Set the alarm, wake up and say `here we go again’.
 
“I cried a fair bit when I was by myself. ‘You dickhead, what are you doing? What have you done?’ ” (ANI)
