Duffy starts smoking again to feel human

Welsh singer, songwriter Duffy says that she has started smoking again because it makes her feel human.

Duffy had given up the habit after she moved from her native Wales to London, but started smoking again after her career took off.

“Back home everybody smoked because there was nothing else to do,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“I started again because I just needed something to allow me to feel human again. It’s a way of getting five minutes to yourself. “Before I go on stage I have a glass of wine and a cigarette,” she added.

Duffy has been hailed as the new Dusty Springfield and Amy Winehouse. She debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts with her album Rockferry, so far, selling over 3 million copies worldwide. Duffy is the first Welsh female to achieve a number one pop single in the past 25 years with her second single Mercy.
