Elton John in an unhealthy condition

It’s depressing to know that the 62-year-old Sir Elton John is in hospital suffering from “flu with complications”. How sweet of the Pop Star’s partner David Furnish who spent most of the time on 1st October 2009 at Elton’s bedside at King Edward VII Hospital in Marylebone, London. In his $930-a-night room Sir Elton was also visited by celebrity friends including artist Sam Taylor-Wood.

Since 31st October 2009, the hospital’s elite medical staffs have been taking good care of Sir Elton after his two-week illness worsened. One needs to be careful because the flu complications can be referred to bronchitis, viral or bacterial pneumonia, muscle inflammations and infections of the central nervous system. During such flu people over 50s and children under four are at a high risk.

Having earlier pulled out of concerts at Sheffield, Newcastle upon Tyne, Liverpool and Wembley, on 31st October, Sir Elton had to cancel the last leg of his Red Piano tour in Dublin. Two weeks ago, he also missed Boyzone star Stephen Gately’s funeral though Mr Furnish attended it on his behalf.

Sir Elton’s spokesman confirmed that he has got flu infection but they did not elaborate it. After Mr Furnish left the hospital, he told The Mail on Sunday newspaper that Elton is fine. Furnish was wearing sunglasses and he was dressed in black.
