Ex ‘face if Asia’ model ‘had suffered miscarriage’

A family member of the former ‘Face of Asia’ model, who plunged 150ft to her death, has claimed that she suffered a miscarriage after learning that her lover was already married.

Sahar Daftary, 23, who won the Face of Asia contest in 2007, fell from a 12th floor balcony at the luxury flats in Salford Quays, Manchester, last weekend.

Initial police investigations suggested Daftary’s death might have been an accident or suicide.

However, her family said that Sahar wound never have committed suicide because it was against her religious beliefs and asked police to carry out a second post-mortem examination.

“They continue to strongly believe that this was not suicide,” the Telegraph quoted their lawyer Brian Koffman, as saying.

“They are in the mourning process and they are reflecting on her passing. They met with the officer and expressed their concerns and he informed us there will be a second post mortem,” he added.

Last week, Sahar’s ex Rashid Jamil was arrested and questioned on suspicion of murder before being released on bail. (ANI)
