Cheating on your partner can cost you more than your marriage, at least in the case of migraine sufferers.

According to Italian researchers, the guilt of being unfaithful and the stress of trying to cover up the affair can trigger extreme migraines.

In a minority of cases, migraines can be so severe that they lead to a cerebral aneurysm.

“This type of headache can be exacerbated by a series of factors like aphrodisiac food, performance-enhancing drugs, physical strain and psychological stress caused by the need to keep the relationship secret,” Telegraph quoted Lorenzo Pinessi, president of the Italian Society for the Study of Migraines, as telling a conference in Milan.

“It can trigger extremely strong migraine attacks lasting up to three hours. In three to four per cent of cases they may cause a cerebral aneurysm. The danger increases if the relationship is illicit or extra-marital,” the expert added.

Eating or drinking purported aphrodisiacs such as chocolate, shellfish and Champagne can also worsen migraines could also be exacerbated by.

Wine and cheese should also be avoided, the conference was told.

Men and women suffering worse than normal migraines during sex should immediately seek the help of a specialist, Dr Pinessi said.

But the best way of tackling the problem was simple - stop cheating, he added. (ANI)
