Fred Travalena

Fred Travalena has died at the age of 66 his home in Encino, California. Born in 1942, Fred was an American entertainer, specializing in comedy and impersonations.

Travalena was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2002 and prostate cancer in 2003. Following five years’ remission, the lymphoma returned in 2008.

His official website says “Fred Travalena has succumbed to Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on Sunday,June 28, 2009, after a seven-year battle with the disease. A Memorial Service, which will be open to the public, will be announced soon”.

FRED was honored recently when he was asked to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC. on behalf of the USO, which FRED is very dedicated to and travels to foreign countries to entertain the servicemen.  He was also honored by Club Italia with a Merit Achievement Award for his contributions to society.
