The near and dear ones of late Hollywood actor Heath Ledger are trying their best to open the late actor’s dream bar in New York in order to pay tribute to him.

Heath, who accidentally died of drug overdose, always wanted to open a New York bar, and fondly named the future project as ‘Brightside’.

Heath’s father Kim has already donated money for the completion of the project, the bar will comprise of personal touches designed by the late actor and Chess tables the actor was pretty fond of.

“He drew the floor plans and thought of the name - ‘BrightSide’ - because it’s on the bright side of McCarren Park,” Daily Express quoted Heath’s long time pal Jud Mongell, as saying.

“Heath was a big chess player, the whole idea was to make it a spot for us. We wanted to make it our own space to hang out,” he added.

The place will be designed by john McCormick, who created New York hotspot The Beatrice Inn one of Heath’s favourite hangouts.

“He specifically talked about having a big table for him and his family to sit at, It was great working with Heath. He was the most unassuming guy,” McCormick said.

“Everyone is really excited that Heath’s bar will open soon, He played an active part in getting the project together and he was looking forward to having a bar where all his friends could hang out,” a New York source said.

“He loved hanging out with his friends so this will be a fitting tribute to him, we’re all really happy that his last wish is about to come true,” the source added. (ANI)
