Is Lady Gaga the most outrageous singer / performer?

Lady Gaga does it all, when it comes to performing on stage. She use props which has never been used, she does things, which has never been done. She stabs herself on stage sometimes and does other acts that have never ever been seen or thought off.

But the question is, does it come from within her? Or does she do all these to seek attention? We are not only talking about the freaky acts and skimpy dresses on stage but we are also talking about her off stage stunts. Earlier this year, when she was just becoming famous, she managed to grab the limelight by wearing a leotard which showed off her derriere at every opportunity.

As time has passed, she has gone further and further to get noticed  -  one recent ensemble was a red lace unitard worn with a truly minute Gstring and a gigantic headdress.

Other outrageous things she did are playing the piano with her feet in Marc Jacobs’s New York party and ofcourse having first insisted that someone sterilise the piano keys. Then it was a bra which shoots fire, a dress made of bubbles and a cat suit with winged shoulders.

As long as her records are hitting high, who cares! Right?

At the end of the day, as Lady Gaga herself has said, it’s about the music. The rest is fun; I enjoy her outrageousness. What gets her taken seriously is the music and her performances. She is the full package. She writes hit songs, she puts together a great show, and she has a terrific voice. She can go acoustic and bring tears to one’s eyes, or go nuts on stage and drop jaws all over the hall. She’s also smart with a sense of humor, and gives a good – sometimes hilarious – interview. And, she is able to find the very best people – from Beyonce to Alexander McQueen – to collaborate with her. On top of it all, she’s paid her dues, having worked in clubs since she was 14 and having written songs for many top acts.
