It’s splitsville for Leisel Jones and Marty Pask

Olympic swimming champion Leisel Jones and former AFL footballer Marty Pask have called off their engagement.

The pair was due to tie the knot next year but has amicably decided to end their two-year relationship after realising they were not yet ready for the commitment of marriage.

In a statement released by Jones’ management, the duo said that they would remain friends and would continue to support each other.

“Marty and I met at a time that was right for both of us and we have shared some wonderful memories together but over time we have realised that we were not ready for the commitment of marriage,” News.com.au quoted Jones, as saying in a statement.

Pask said: “I took great joy in supporting Leisel and seeing her realise her dreams of Olympic gold. I will always support Leisel in what she chooses to do as we still remain close friends.”

Jones and Pask, both 23, met in Brisbane in 2006 and were engaged late last year. (ANI)
