Kareena & Saif : 4 Reasons why Kurbaan flopped !

‘Kurbaan’, a Karan Johar film that released on 20th November,2009, surprisingly, failed to garner a sound box-office opening. The film, that brings together onscreen the real-life couple Saif Ali Khan & Kareena Kapoor, is a passionate love-story fabricated with terrorism as its backdrop. Despite vehement promotions and jaw-dropping posters that projected a backless Kareena clinging desperately to a bare-chested Saif( with blood oozing out), the film recorded paltry opening collections and seems fated for a disaster. Herein, we present some reasons that spelled Kurbaan’s doom.

1.    The scorchingly bold scenes between Saifeena were not enough to draw in the audience who seemed less inclined to view another NewYork-type movie.

2.    Viewers who spent lavishly on ‘Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahanii’ & ‘2012’ didn’t have enough bucks to spare on a film like Kurbaan.

3.    As the chilly winter encroaches, family audience do prefer a comic, light-hearted rom-com over a serious movie like Kurbaan.

4.    Moviebuffs are really looking forward to Amitabh’s ‘Paa’ and Aamir Khan’s ‘3 idiots’ & ‘Kurbaan’, simply, got overshadowed by these upcoming mammoth flicks.
