Martin Scorsese to helm U.S. TV pilot

Filmmaker Martin Scorsese is currently in talks to make a foray into television by directing an upcoming U.S. television pilot. Scorsese will be helming HBO’s drama pilot ‘Boardwalk Empire’.

Scorsese is an executive producer on the project, along with actor Mark Wahlberg, reports Contactmusic. ‘Boardwalk Empire’ documents the scene of 1920s East Coast gambling Mecca Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Martin Scorsese is an Academy Award-winning American film director, writer, producer, actor and film historian. Also affectionately known as “Marty”, he is the founder of the World Cinema Foundation and a recipient of the AFI Life Achievement Award for his contributions to the cinema and has won awards from the Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Directors Guild of America.

Scorsese is president of the Film Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to film preservation and the prevention of the decaying of motion picture film stock.
