Mickey Rourke : Mickey Rourke to champion pet overpopulation crisis campaign

Animal-lover Mickey Rourke is set to champion pet overpopulation crisis by signing a deal with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) urging people to sterilize their pets.
‘The Wrestler’ actor was said to have been very touched on learning about the “companion animal overpopulation crisis” and had subsequently grasped the opportunity to encourage people to get their pets “fixed”.
Donning his signature trademark sunglasses and holding his canine sidekick, Jaws, the Golden Globe-winner appears in the PETA ad titled ‘Have the Cojones to Fix Your Dog’, reports Contactmusic.
The caption in the ad read: “When dogs get knocked up, puppies get put down because there aren’t enough homes for them.”
Rourke said:”I think if the public is more aware of fixing their animals, of not going to the puppy store – which I have been guilty of – they wouldn’t be putting so many dogs to death each week.” (ANI)
