Oliver Stone shares rank with Mel Gibson in AJC’s list

Director Oliver Stone appears to be treading Mel Gibson’s path, after siding with the actor when asked about his career resurgence the director went ahead and offended the Jewish Community which has earned him a berth in AJC’s list of Anti- Semitic people.

The director while promoting his new documentary South of the Border in an interview with the Sunday Times, the JFK director claimed Hitler killed more Russians than Jews but the Holocaust was more reported because of “the Jewish domination of the media”.

He further added “There’s a major lobby in the United States. They are hard workers. They stay on top of every comment, the most powerful lobby in Washington. Israel has f***** up United States foreign policy for years.”

AJC executive director David Harris said “For all of Stone’s progressive pretensions, his remark is no different from one of the drunken, Jew-hating rants of his fellow Hollywood celebrity, Mel Gibson.”

Oliver Stone realizing the gravity of his remarks apologized to the Jewish committee on Monday saying “In trying to make a broader historical point about the range of atrocities the Germans committed against many people, I made a clumsy association about the Holocaust, for which I am sorry and I regret.”
