Pet dog Copper released into wild as she was mistaken for Coyote
Copper was a pet dog of Lori Goodlett and was registered with an American kennel club. Recently she was mistaken for a coyote by Frankfurt Humane society shelter and released into forest by them. Copper is a Sheba Inu by pedigree and she disappeared on July 3, 2010 while playing in fenced backyard of Lori Goodlett. Lori then put poster in search of her dog and luckily one of the police officers recognized the dog and remembered that he took that dog to the shelter.
The police officer received a call from shelter authorities after few hours and they informed the officer that he had to take the animal back as coyotes are not allowed in the shelter. After discussing with wildlife experts, shelter authorities kept Copper behind home improvement store for some time. Later on society board chairman John Forbes agreed that it is against law to keep any coyote in the shelter and decided to release Copper into forest.
Lori Goodlett, the owner of this unfortunate dog is really shocked after she came to know the entire incident and surprised how a pet dog can be misunderstood as a coyote. She said Copper is member of her family and hopefully she will be found soon.
