This seems to be another brilliant year for singer Robbie Williams. The buzz is that, The UK’s recorded music association, The BPI, revealed the recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music Award.
Any guesses? Yes it’s none other than singer Robbie Williams as he will receive top honour at the 30th Brit Awards in London next year.
Robbie Williams, who has won more BRITs than any other artist, will be honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award on 16 February 2010 and will close the show with a ’sensational’ live performance at London’s Earls Court.
“Robbie is one of the outstanding artists and performers of his generation,” the Sun quoted Ged Doherty, chairman of The BRITs Committee, as saying. “It will be an absolute thrill to have him at the BRITs’ 30th anniversary show receiving the Outstanding Contribution Award. We are delighted,” Doherty added.
The versatile Robbie Williams has made a spectacular return to the limelight with his hugely successful single ‘Bodies’ taken from his album ‘Reality Killed The Video Star’ which will be released on 9th November on EMI’s Virgin Records.
One thing is for sure that, the BRIT Awards 2010 are proud to have Robbie Williams return to its stage. At an earlier BRITs, 1998, he dueted with one of his heroes Tom Jones.
In 1999, Robbie was first awarded the BRIT for Best British Male Artist and went on to consecutively win more categories for another five years running. In 2005 he performed his biggest hit ‘Angels’ live on stage alongside songstress Joss Stone.
On his part, Robbie is excited to hit the stage next year.
