Robert Gates Supports Obama’s War Plan !

Defense Secretary Robert gates supported President Obama’s decision to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan to wipe out all elements of Al-Qaeda in front of a senate panel on Tuesday. President’s national security team began to make pubic cases for this decision. Gates said that if US fails in Afghanistan, there will be great chance of Taliban take-over again in that country and that will obliviously provide inspiration to the Islamic extremist organizations all over the world. So there will be real set back in anti-terrorism drive across the globe as Taliban is likely to support Al Qaeda directly or indirectly.

There is a debate going on regarding how heavily to target Taliban at this moment. Adm Mike Mullen also supported this decision, but he denies Gates warning about Taliban as insurgency operation has already been able to gain influence in 11 provinces out of 34 in Afghanistan. Though few anti-war democrats criticized this insurgency, most of the Lawmakers welcome this decision in favor of President. Most of the democrats and former President Bill Clinton raised their voice in Obama’s support to accelerate the reformation process in Afghanistan which will definitely serve the purpose of global anti-terrorism drive.
