Russell Brand may play Captain Jack Sparrow’s brother in next ‘Pirates’ flick

English comedian Russell Brand is in talks for a five-million-pound role in the next Pirates of The Caribbean movie, as Captain Jack Sparrow’s brother.
Captain Jack Sparrow is a character played by American actor Johnny Depp, and in the fourth instalment, the swashbuckling pirate will also have a younger brother, Jonathan.
If the deal goes through, Brand, 33, will automatically end up on the Hollywood A-list, and that too in less than a week after resigning from his Radio 2 show over the Andrew Sachs phone row involving him and Jonathan Ross.
“There couldn’t be a role more perfectly suited. There’s a lot of Jack Sparrow in his mannerisms and behaviour. Depp’s accent isn’t a million miles away from Russell’s either,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.
“Russell joining the Sparrows alongside Johnny and Keith Richards as their dad will complete the ultimate on-screen pirate family,” the source added. (ANI)
