Sahel Kazemi Funeral: Why would anyone care?

Sahel Kazemi Funeral is scheduled to be on Friday in Jacksonville, Fla. On July 4, 2009, Sahel Kazemi was found dead of a single gunshot wound to the head in a condominium in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. She has been accused of murdering Steve McNair.

The kind of public attention this case has drawn has made it inevitable for people to discuss everything and express their opinion.

A very obvious question which is being asked is ‘Why would anyone care about Sahel Kazemi Funeral’?  While most of the people have no sympathy towards Kazemi there are still some who understand that her family is also grieving and she does not deserve ridicule or sarcasm at this moment. As a matter of fact both the families have lost their members and should be treated equally and be consoled.

What do you think is the best way to react in such a difficult situation?

We should care because despite her actions, by all accounts, she seemed to have been placed into a rather desperate situation by many circumstances that she weren’t entirely up to this young woman. She had a rough childhood losing a mother. She came to this country at 12 or 13 and appeared to grasp on to the lifestyle glamorized in pop culture that all teens are susceptible to–Kazemi probably more so due to her need to fit into her “new culture”. She dropped out of school and managed to string together a bunch of jobs to stay afloat. By public accounts, she didn’t try to latch onto Mr. McNair (not even knowing who he was). He approached her, and it would be flattering for most women to be approached by a man of his status.

Her situation wasn’t predetermined, but she was dealt a pretty poor hand in life. I think the bottom line is that Mr. McNair used a vulnerable young woman. She didn’t ask to be a “kept woman”. She worked and made her own car and rental payments. She just got caught up in a lifestyle she couldn’t support in large part because she got caught up in a man who may have cared for her but certainly couldn’t commit to her. She was a 20 year old kid looking for approval/affection, and she probably needed it more than most of us.

She committed an unspeakable act upon a man and his family that, no matter how much McNair wronged her, was undeserved. I think we should care because we as a society failed her. She had a family that cared for her, but she needed a role model in her life in Nashville too. These days we’re too good at producing glitz and not good enough at producing real, true, substantive, everyday role models to mentor kids like her. During the unfortunate final moments of her life, she did not treat Mr. McNair, her family, and his family with the dignity they deserved. That said, it doesn’t appear that she was treated with dignity by many individuals over the course of her life. The least we can do is treat her with dignity in death.

Playa got played low level high school uneducatedhigh school dropout harlot tramp whore then does the world a favor and kills herself. She did the world a favor although I’m sorry for the kids and wife, I find it mind boggling that her family had no issue with the fact that she was with a married man.

did’nt know wants to paint the killer as someone used or too “weak” let me say no one forced her to drop out of school, they say she resisited the Whoremonger (Mcnair) at first if this is true why did’nt she continue to? No one made her date him much less spread her legs (which is all it was is sex). I’m not saying that Mcnair is above reproach not for a second I feel for his family.
She could have walked away just as easily and it was for her to buy that gun in a parking lot she had several hours think on it yet she still went through with it premeditated so no tears for her

this is a tragic situation for both families, death is final, painful and full of sorrow. we can only speculate what was going through the young ladies mind, now i do not condone murder, i saw enough killing during the war but then again when you use someone without remorse you set your self up for a very dangerous element called death. i can only say that there are two sides to this sad story that we do not know, let them rest in peace, that is GODS way from my point of view!

I think we should care about the young lady because she was a person that just got caught up in a not so good situation. Yes, she knew he was married and should not have been involved with him, but we don’t really know what he was telling her. Plus, she was young and thought she was in love. This is why I feel that cheating is just not worth it!!! Steve may have been a good person in the community but he was a cheater. He would be alive today if it were not for his infidelities. Just sad! I feel sorry for his wife and sons. What a way to leave this world. So many people think highly of you but then they really find out what type of person you are when you are gone. The sad thing is that this young girl was most likely not the only person Steve was seeing. Noone deserved to die in this situation but it is what it is!
