Sam Worthington : Sam Worthington tipped to replace Christian Bale as Batman

Aussie actor Sam Worthington is tipped to replace Christian Bale as Batman in the third instalment of the caped crusader’s franchise.

The 32-year-old star is likely to make his mark in the US with the May release of James Cameron’s Terminator Salvation, and again in December with release of Avatar.

Cameron calls Worthington a breakout star of both films, reports News.com.au.

Rumours are abuzz that the rising Australian star could score the part of Batman in the third instalment of the successful prequel franchise.

He might replace current Batman star Bale, who also happens to be his Terminator co-star, and whose profile was damaged after his infamous “me, me, me” meltdown on the Terminator set, which recently hit the Internet. (ANI)

    Are you guys serious??
James Cameron’s Terminator Salvation? can you please look it up?? and pay attention!! McG is the director of Terminator Salvation.

Personally I doubt it… Nolan has worked with Christian Bale on 3 occasions. I doubt he would compromise working with an actor he knows well, and been successful with just because there’s a new hot actor out there…
Batman 3 will probably come out in 2, 3 years from now… nobody will care about bale’s rant…

How long will this stupid rumor keep going round?
It was one wishful headline on an AUSTRALIAN newspaper that thought “those chaps in America must be pissed off at Bale since TMZ and the rest blew his rant way out of proportion. this is the perfect time for our own Sam to replace him”.

LOL! How dumb is the public supposed to be? Worthington is an Australian. This load of rubbish was started by a tabloid (Herald Sun) Australian magazine. The same mag that started the Eddie Murphy/Riddler rumor. Obviously, they feel the need to up the ante for Worthington. Why? Beats me. Maybe they know something about him that we don’t. Seems to me that he can do alright by himself and doesn’t need any bogus help. Bale has a 3 deal contract, unless WB is ready to buy him out of that contract over a silly, over hyped rant, that happens everyday in the industry, it’s not going to happen. WB is all about the money. Bale brings it to the table, at this point and time, Worthington does not.

James Cameron is in no way involved with Terminator Salvation . Avatar, however, is a James Cameron film.

You’re not seriously insinuating James Cameron directed Terminator Salvation. Does any website bother to take 5 seconds to research before they post articles?
