Sean Penn : Sean Penn claims he didn’t demand ‘experimental’ movie role to be cut

Sean Penn has blasted rumours that he had demanded his role in new movie ‘Crossing Over’ to be cut because of a controversial scene in the film.

However, the two-time Academy Award winning actor has insisted that his part in the film was just “experimental”.

Penn filmed a few scenes playing an enforcement agent in the drama, starring Harrison Ford and Ashley Judd.

However, when the film was released in the U.S. this month without the actor, rumours erupted that he was outraged by a controversial scene and demanded his role be cut.

In the scene, an Iranian woman, believed to have dishonoured her family, is killed by her brother.

However, Penn has brushed off the claims, insisting that his part was never confirmed to make the final edit.

“Sean’s portion of the film was somewhat experimental as it had a mystical quality that the rest of the film did not have. His not being in the final edit was a creative decision of which he was aware,” Contactmusic quoted his spokesperson as telling the New York Post.
