Sir Cliff Richard once feared ‘The Beatles’ will ruin his career

Legendary pop star Sir Cliff Richards has confessed that he was once scared of losing his career owing to The Beatles’ success.

Sir Cliff has revealed that while The Beatle’s exploded with their musical invasion during the 1960’s, he was terrified with the idea of losing out to them in the charts.

The renowned musician, who recently completed his 50 years in the music industry, admits loosening up only after having spoken to his manager.

“It was alarming only because the media made it alarming,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“All you ever heard about was The Beatles, every day for two years, almost as though we’d died and gone.

“I remember sitting down with my manager and he said, ‘Are you still selling records? Are you having number ones? Are you selling out your tours?’ “The answer to all those questions was yes.

“So then he said, ‘Well, why are you bothered about the Beatles?’ That’s when the fear left us,” he added. (ANI)
