Bale, 35, said the reason he wants Nolan, 39, to direct the next movie, is because nobody would be able to do as good a job.

The actor is contractually obliged to star in a third film, but he is worried about the future of the franchise if Nolan refuses to take charge.

“It’s got to be the right story. You can’t make something like The Dark Knight and then come out with something disappointing,” the Daily Star quoted him as telling Total Film magazine.

“The fact is, I have to (make a third movie). I’ve signed up! Chris doesn’t. So I’m in a bit of a fix if he says he doesn’t want to!” he added.

Bale was directed by Nolan in 2005’s Batman Begins and reprised his role as the caped crusader for last year’s (08) box office smash, which grossed more than 69 million pounds worldwide. (ANI)

An audio clip of Bale screaming abuse at the film’s director of photography became a YouTube hit when it was leaked online in February. It featured 39 F-words and Bale threatening to quit the film.

In an interview to Total Film magazine, the ‘Batman Begins’ star lashed out at the crewmembers for betraying his trust.

“Hey, I did what I did. I’m not hiding from that. I went overboard,” the Telegraph quoted Bale as saying.

“But there is an essential trust and it’s not a tacit one, it’s a verbal one, a spoken one, which is [that] every sound guy says, ‘We are not only not recording, we’re not even listening.’

“So, well, there goes that. I do stress, though, it’s not in any way a trust that’s there to cover up bad behaviour. It’s not about that. It’s an essential trust that’s needed for creativity,” he added.

On being asked if he feared that the controversy would affect audiences’ enjoyment of Termination Salvation, he replied: “Yeah. It’s not in anyone’s interest to know that much.

“I understand people are interested, I get that they want to hear about it, but to me I look at it as old-school movie magic and with magic you do not reveal your secrets.

“You really make people work to find those secrets and generally you just reveal it to people who are going to join your ****ing magic circle and then you know about it.

“And you know, for me, I’ve never been comfortable with the revealing of those mysteries which I think are wonderful mysteries,” he added.  (ANI)

The action star-turned-California governor had sparked speculation that he would return to the franchise, when he was spotted on the set of Terminator Salvation, starring Christian Bale.

The news scared California citizens as they thought the Austrian-born star was abandoning his political responsibilities to return to the big screen, reports Contactmusic.

However, the hunky star has assured civilians his cameo appearance in director Joseph “MCG” MCGinty Nichol’s film has already been shot – producers plan to use footage from the original Terminator movie and splice it in.

Schwarzenegger explains to Entertainment Weekly, “I made it very clear that I don’t have the time to do the movie.

“I said that I would be willing to be in the movie if they get the technology together, and so they are working on that right now.

“They would basically take technology out of Terminator I, and use that walk of mine and somehow bring it in (to the new film). It’s just a brief scene.”

Schwarzenegger’s return to the big screen as the titular terminator was accomplished by digitally rendering the character from a mold of his body, cast during production of the first picture 25 years ago.

As the Web site Den of Geek put it, “He’ll be half-back.”

“It’s terribly sad. I feel for him. He seems to be incredibly stressed and angry at the moment. This sort of behaviour is totally out of character and I think he might need help,” the Telegraph quoted her, as saying from her house in Dorset.

Last summer, Bale was arrested and interrogated for several hours after an alleged assault on Sharon and their mum, Jenny.

Later, the Crown Prosecution Service announced that he would not face any charges due to insufficient evidence.

His mother says: “People might now realise that is his temper: they might understand a bit more. I wish he hadn’t carried this on so long or so fiercely. It was upsetting to hear him.”

Sharon adds: “He’s normally a placid guy, but he has done film after film. He just needs time out.”

On a phone call to the KROQ radio station in Los Angeles, the 35-year-old Welsh-born actor expressed his regret over the profanity-laden tirade against the director of photography on his film ‘Terminator Salvation’.

“It’s been a miserable week for me,” the Telegraph quoted him as saying of the public reaction to the leaked audio recording.

“I know I have a pottymouth, everybody knows that now. I have no confusion whatsoever. I was out of order beyond belief … I acted like a punk.

“I regret that and there is nobody that has heard that tape that has been hit harder by it (than me),” he added.

Bale’s “inexcusable” verbal assault had many criticising the actor, and even raised questions whether he had breached the acceptable boundaries of an “artistic temperament”.

“I am embarrassed by it and I regret it,” Bale said of his behaviour.

He blamed a “bad day”, and the pressures of fame for his fury.

“One thing that has really disturbed me throughout this is I’m not familiar or comfortable with this notion of being a movie star. The thing that disturbs me so much is that I’ve heard a lot of people saying that I seem to think I’m better than anybody else,” he said.

Although he claimed that the assertion could not be “further from the truth”, Bale acknowledged that he’d been quite fortunate as an actor.

“I never forget that and that is why I put so much into what I do and I care so much about it. Sometimes that enthusiasm just goes awry,” he said. (ANI)

In a four-minute audio clip, a man said to be actor Bale can be heard angrily screaming and using profanity at the movie’s director of photography, Shane Hurlbut, for distracting him during shooting by walking into his field of vision.

“I’m trying to do a f**king scene here and I’m going, ‘Why the f**k is Shane walking in there? What’s he doing there?’ Do you understand my mind is not in the scene if you’re doing that?” Bale reportedly shouted in the clip.

The male voice is then heard promising to kick his “f**king ass” before threatening to quit the film unless Hurlbut was fired.

However, Bruce Franklin, an assistant director and associate producer on the fourth Terminator film, has claimed that the star was only upset for a short period of time before his “moment” passed.

“If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove… It was the most emotional scene in the movie,” Contactmusic quoted Franklin as telling E! Online.

He added: “And for him to get stopped in the middle of it – he is very intensely involved in his character. He didn’t walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed.”

In fact, Franklin has insisted the rant has only been released to slander Bale, with whom he worked on the 2000 movie Shaft.

“This was my second movie with Christian, and it has always been a good experience with him. He is so dedicated to the craft. I think someone is begging to make some noise (controversy) about this, but I don’t think it’s fair. The art of acting is not paint by numbers, it’s an art form,” said Franklin. (ANI)

Dallas, who plays Bale’s wife in the movie ‘Terminator’ has trashed the reports saying far from being unruly, Bale was the best actor she’s ever worked with.

Bale was accused of throwing tantrums on the sets just days after he was arrested in London for allegedly assaulting his mum and sister.

However Dallas has defended Bale, who plays the role of John Connor in the film saying he is a thorough gentleman.

“This man is just a gentleman, an amazing person, I adore him and I just can’t wait to be with him next week,” Contactmusic quoted the actor, as saying.

“John Connor is a very intense character… and so misinterpretations could happen, but every experience I’ve had with Christian has been like, ‘I’m not worthy to be in your presence,” Dallas said.

“She gets to sleep with a whole bunch of different men so maybe it’s not so bad,” he said.

Studio estimates show that The Dark Knight’s second-weekend gross was the biggest ever, and it is now being predicted that it will bash the 400 million dollar mark in the 18 days after its release.

Second highest grossing over the weekend was ‘Step Brothers’ which raked in 30 million dollars.

Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth musical ‘Mamma Mia!’ came in at the third spot, taking in 17.9 million dollars.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson’s return to the big screen in ‘The X-Files: I Want to Believe’ however disappointed with an earning of only 10.2 million dollars in its debut weekend.

The top five was rounded off by the big screen adaptation of Jules Vernes classic ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth’ starring Brendan Fraser, which took in 9.4 million dollars, reports E!Online.

The actor, who attended the premier of his movie Dark Knight with wife Sandra, looked much more composed but stayed away from any kind of personal questions.

According to sources, Bale lost his cool when his mum, while asking him for 100,000 pounds to help sis Sharon bring up her three kids, passed derogatory remarks about his wife Sandra.

“Christian was stressed, but he didn’t lay a finger on anyone. He just got very loud,” a source close to Bale said.

“Christian’s attitude is that this was his mother’s fault because she became very provocative in an argument they were having,” the source added.

According to the grapevine the actor lost control but as he is much calmer now, he wishes he should have just left the room.

“Normally Christian would just call a friend and go out to a pub to cool off, But he was literally trapped into this confrontation with his mother and sister because there was an army of fans and paparazzi outside,” a source said.

Bale is also said to have lost his temper on the sets of ‘Terminator’ when the director of cinematography screwed up a shot.

As for his tiff with his mum and sis, his attorney has denied all allegations against Bale and has said the actor left the station without any charges being made against him. (ANI)

Bale has been accused by his mother and sister of having assaulted them, but a source close to the actor says the Batman star “flew off the handle” and “cussed” his mother only after she said “outrageous” things about his wife, the Daily Mail website reported.

Even though he protested his innocence, the 34-year-old actor was arrested on July 22 for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister, but was freed on bail after five hours of police questioning.

As per the source, Bale “didn’t lay a finger on anyone” during the dispute on July 20.

“Christian’s attitude is that this was his mother’s fault because she became very provocative in an argument they were having,” Daily Telegraph quoted the source as telling the paper.

“Christian was stressed, but he didn’t lay a finger on anyone. Instead, he flew off the handle and cussed his mother. He just got very loud because his mother was saying some very outrageous things about him, and his wife,” the source added.

It is understood that the actor’s relationship with Blazic has been strained in recent months. He is expected to continue shooting the next Terminator film following the assault allegation.

He will continue his promotional tour of The Dark Knight, with the next stop Barcelona as the film opens around the world. (ANI)

Bale had been arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister at a London hotel, and as per a source close to the 34-year-old actor, the tension has been building up in him and he has been finding it very difficult to cope and control his anger.

“He has stresses in his marriage,” News.com.au quoted the source as having told Daily Mail.

“He can have a terrible temper. Instead of lashing out at his wife, he sometimes lashes out at people around him.

“Without Ledger around he’s found it more and more difficult to communicate with those around him, especially his family,” the source said.

Bale, who had previously admitted to suffering from depression and bouts of insomnia, has been released on bail. He had to spend several hours at a London police station before being released without charge, his Los Angeles-based spokeswoman, Jennifer Allen, revealed.

“Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister,” Allen said.

“Mr Bale, who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police,” she added.

The police were asked if Bale had been arrested and released on bail.

“A 34-year-old man has been bailed to return to a police station on a date in September,” a police spokeswoman said.

According to British media reports, Bale’s mother and sister contacted the police in London on July 20 night, a day before the European premiere of The Dark Knight.

The Sun newspaper said police did not question Bale immediately because they didn’t want to interfere with the movie’s premiere.

Bale was on the red carpet with co-stars Michael Caine and Maggie Gyllenhaal in central London’s Leicester Square on Monday night.

A spokeswoman for the film’s distributor, Warner Bros, said the police inquiry involving Bale would have no effect on the studio’s international press tour for the movie, which goes next to Barcelona then on to Tokyo.

“Everybody is continuing with business as usual,” she said. (ANI)

He ventures into Shanghai and finds it bustling with Japanese troops who ignore his attempts at surrender. Eventually, he falls in with an American, Basie (Malkovich), who renames him “Jim,” and when they are captured Jim uses great ingenuity to stay with Basie. The story moves with lots of twists and turns and He is sent back to Shanghai and meets his parents.

However, this was not Bale’s first attempt at acting. His first foray into acting was a commercial for the fabric softener Lenor in 1982, when he was eight years old. He appeared in a Pac-Man cereal commercial playing a child rock star a year later and in 1984 made his stage debut in the The Nerd, opposite Rowan Atkinson.

The new movie, starring Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhall, Michael Caine and the late Heath Ledger, has already made more money in its biggest day (66.4 m dollars on Friday) than Hancock, WALL-E and Kung-Fu Panda, to name three recent supersize hits, made in their respective opening weekends.

The movie’s performance on Friday also set new records as Hollywood’s biggest-ever opening day and biggest-ever single day.

Second highest grosser over the weekend was Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan starrer ‘Mamma Mia!’ which took in 27.6 million dollars.

Will Smith’s superhero movie ‘Hancock’ came in third on the list by Exhibitor Relations, with an earning of 14 million dollars.

The movie adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’ starring Brendan Fraser was the fourth highest grossing, raking in 11.9 million dollars.

The top five was rounded off by ‘Hellboy II: The Golden Army’ which took in 10 million dollars over the weekend.

Heath Ledger’s co-stars have also started backing the late actor for a posthumous Oscar for his role in The Dark Knight. The Aussie actor’s Batman co-stars have predicted that Ledger’s portrayal of Joker would definitely get him an academy award next year.

“A lot of people talk about awards all the time, and it’s early days. But if anybody deserves it, of course, it is Heath in this,” Contactmusic quoted Christian Bale, as saying.

“I do think that Heath has created an iconic villain that will stand for the ages, and of course, I would love to see him get an award. But you know, to me, you can witness his talent, celebrate his talent within this movie. Anything else is gravy.

“Heath has done a phenomenal enough job that I would not be surprised (if he won),” he added. Co-star Maggie Gyllenhaal also believes that Ledger’s Joker is worth an Oscar.

“He hit it in the entire performance (in Batman).”It’s so difficult to do that in a huge movie like this and much easier to do in the tiny movies. That’s why those are always the people who win Academy Awards,” Gyllenhaal told MTV.

“Heath was (amazing); it’s so unusual, and it happens really rarely even for the best actors, that you just hit this stride in a role and you’re totally free. “And when that happens, you can do no wrong. It’s incredible to be around, and that’s what it was like with him,” she added. Co-star Gary Oldman also echoes the same.

“I think it’s an incredible performance. I think it sets a new benchmark. It would surprise me if he didn’t get a posthumous Oscar for it,” he said. (ANI)
