‘The Simpsons’ claims 10th Emmy award

Animated comedy ‘The Simpsons’ has once again claimed one of US TV’s most honourable prizes at the Emmy Awards for the 10th time.

It marked the 10th time that ‘The Simpsons’ was named best half-hour animated show, reports BBC.

The ceremony, which was held in Los Angeles, serves as a prelude to the higher-profile Primetime Emmys on September 21.

Historical mini-series John Adams, about the second US president, clinched eight awards in the ceremony.

‘Mad Men’, the critically acclaimed new TV drama, triumphed in four award categories, including best cinematography for an hour long series.

Comedian Sarah Silverman and four co-writers shared the prize for best original music and lyrics for a song about Matt Damon, that became an Internet sensation.

Former ‘Sex and the City’ star Cynthia Nixon was named best guest actress for ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’.

TV veteran Tim Conway claimed an Emmy award for playing an old-time star on ‘30 Rock’.

Kathryn Joosten won her second award for her recurring role as Karen McCluskey on ‘Desperate Housewives’. (ANI)

Tom Cruise to sizzle again in Top Gun sequel?

The makers of Top Gun are planning a sequel to the 80s super hit and according to the grapevine Tom Cruise may just be sporting his aviator shades once again.

The sequel will have Hollywood heartthrob Cruise in his original role of pilot Maverick but this time he would be an instructor dealing with a cocky trainee.

“The idea is Maverick is at the ‘Top Gun’ school as an instructor – and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot,” The Sun quoted an insider, as saying.

The outline script is already ready and all that is needed is the nod from Cruise himself. (ANI)

John Cleese’s new ladylove is half his age

English actor John Cleese has found love once again. This time in the arms of a woman half his age.

Cleese, 68, is currently going through a very expensive divorce from his third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger, but he still found time to take 34-year-old Veronica Smiley on a romantic trip to the Italian Great Lakes after meeting her in New York.

“She is certainly a new friend who is definitely a girl,” Daily Telegraph quoted him as saying.

“More than that I simply don’t want to disclose because the relationship is in its early stages and we do not know how it will develop,” he stated.

The latest ladylove of Cleese, who is vice-president of marketing for US satirical political magazine Radar, said they shared a “very close, very warm friendship” and that the actor was “stimulating and extremely funny and charming”.

However, Cleese’s friend, film director Michael Winner, 72, who accompanied him on a trip through Switzerland and Italy to mark his divorce from Eichelberger after 16 years of marriage, says that the two of them are a couple.

“She’s delightful and definitely a girlfriend,” Winner told a Sunday newspaper.

When they reached Zurich they parted company, with Cleese continuing to Lake Como and Bergamo with Miss Smiley. (ANI)

Jessica Simpson reportedly reeling from the news that a sex tape starring her and ex-hubby Nick Lachey has hit the internet.

In the alleged X-rated home video, the 25-year-old star is said to be seen engrossed in various sexual acts with Lachey.

“Jessica is horrified her name and sex tape are being mentioned in the same sentence. She’s always been a girl of high morals and principles,” Stuff.co.nz quoted a source, as telling Britain’s Daily Sport newspaper.

Reports suggest that the tape does exist and has now landed in the hands of people who were behind making the Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee sex video public.

It is also said that these miscreants are now threatening Jessica that they would leak the tape if she fails to pay an undisclosed sum of money to keep the tape a secret.

While Nick is now dating MTV presenter Vanessa Minnillo, Jessica is dating American football star Tony Romo. (ANI)

Car chase in ‘Italian Job’ voted ‘Best Movie Car Chase Of All Time’

The car chase in ‘The Italian Job‘ has been voted the ‘Best Car Chase Of All Movies‘ in a new poll of filmgoers.

The 1969 pursuit follows three Mini Coopers around the streets of Turin, Italy, at break-neck speed.

‘The Blues Brothers‘, which features a huge pile-up finale, was placed second in the survey, conducted for cinema advertisers Pearl & Dean.

According to Sky News, ‘The Bourne Identity’, again involving a Mini, stood third, while 1998 action-thriller film Ronin came fourth.

Rounding off the top five was Bullitt, a 1968 police thriller film starring Steve McQueen.

Now, Madge and A-Rod in £1million sex-tape scandal

As if reports about an affair with baseball star Alex Rodriguez were not enough, Madonna now has to deal with a cameraman who claims that he has in his possession a sex tape of the pop icon and A-Rod.

The cameraman is willing to sell the tape to the highest bidder, with the selling price starting at a whopping 1 million pounds.

The footage, he claims, was shot with a hidden camera in an apartment Madge and Rodriguez used for clandestine trysts in the afternoon.

But legal experts say that the plan could backfire for the man himself, for he could end up facing prosecution for voyeurism and burglary, reports the Daily Star.

One expert said: “If footage was obtained in this way it would be an outrageous invasion of privacy.”

“But more than that he would not have had his friend’s consent to install the camera and must have entered the apartment without approval to hide it. That is burglary.

“He would be prima facie guilty of voyeurism. Instead of making a million he’d be going to jail for a few years. Even if the video existed it would probably be seized by the courts.”

Madonna’s lawyers in the meantime have said that they are “aware” of the claims but are not commenting. (ANI)

Former Las Vegas waitress Sarah Larson is reportedly desperate to get back with ex beau George Clooney.

Larson and the Hollywood heartthrob Clooney split earlier this year.

However, that apparently hasn’t stopped Sarah from becoming nostalgic and pining for Clooney.

“Deep down Sarah knew she would never tie George down but she found herself falling in love with him,” news.com.au quoted a pal of Larson, as saying.

“She is still really cut up about the break-up and although they are still good friends she is finding it really difficult because she still loves him,”

Sarah, 29, is still friends with the actor, thanks to whom, her career as a model got a much needed second life.

Tobey Maguire signs on for Universal’s ‘The Crusaders’

Tobey Maguire has signed on to star in new Universal pic ‘The Cruisaders’. Gary Ross will be directing the drama about the landmark 1954 Brown v. Board of Education case.

Maguire is lined up to play Jack Greenberg, an idealistic lawyer fresh out of law school who joined with NAACP Legal Defense Fund head and future Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall to win a Supreme Court case that ruled segregation in American schools illegal.

Danny Strong is penning the script for the movie, reports Variety.

On board as producer is Bob Cooper with Ross and Maguire exec producing through Ross’s U-based Larger Than Life Prods.

The project is based on Greenberg’s memoirs ‘Crusaders in the Courts’.

It was originally developed by Cooper at New Line but was let go after the studio was absorbed by Warner Bros. (ANI)

Britney granted more access to kids

Singer Britney Spears has finally reached an agreement with former husband Kevin Federline allowing her more access to her children.

The settlement allows the fallen pop princess more overnight visits with her kids. The settlement was agreed with lawyers and a Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner in a closed-door session.

Spears’ attorney, Laura Wasser, said the 26-year-old will be able to spend more time with her young sons.

Wasser said Federline, 30, would retain full custody, but Spears may get expanded rights by the end of the year.

Neither Spears nor Federline attended the hearing.

The agreement also means a custody trial that had been scheduled for next month will not take place now.

Wasser revealed that the singer will now have three visits a week from Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, with at least two overnight visits.

“The fact is, it’s a win for the family,” BBC quoted her, as saying.

Lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan, who represents Federline, said his client was also pleased that an agreement had been reached.

Spears and Federline were married in 2004 and finalized their divorce last July. (ANI)

‘Comme si de rien n’etait‘ (’As If Nothing Had Happened‘) is only behind albums by Coldplay and a French pop singer Laurent Voulzy, according to France’s National Union of Phonographic Edition

According to her record label, ‘Naïve’, the album sold more than 14,000 copies in its first two days, reports the Daily Express.

The former supermodel-turned-singer married French President Nicolas Sarkozy in February after a whirlwind romance.

The new album is being released around Europe this month and is also tipped to hit shelves in the US on August 5. (ANI)

Heath Ledger’s family attends ‘The Dark Knight’ premiere

Late actor Heath Ledger’s family was spotted attending the premiere of his movie The Dark Knight in New York on July 14.

Attending the show was Kim Ledger and his wife Ines, Heath’s stepmother, who bypassed the red carpet and ducked into the theatre to watch his late son play The Joker in the latest Batman film.

Heath’s mother Sally Bell and her husband, and Heath’s older sister, Kate were also present at the premiere.

At the end of the show, his father Kim was asked how it felt to attend, and he responded with the thumbs-up, and also told reporters it was “very good.”

Heath Ledger’s co-stars, meanwhile, used the occasion to pay tribute to him.

“Working with Heath was fantastic,” People magazine quoted Christian Bale, 34, as saying.

“He steals the movie and I’m quite happy to say that. He’s a hell of a talent and created a joker that’s very iconic and one that will become a classic portrayal of the ages,” he said.

Michael Caine, 75, who plays butler Alfred Pennyworth in the film, which opens July 18, noted the “intensity and ferocity of the performance.”

“But when we were sitting down between takes, he was completely ordinary,” Caine stated.

“He wasn’t preparing himself or saying ‘Please leave me alone, I’ve gotta do this.’ Instead he was talking to me.

“We would sit and chat and have a cup of coffee, then suddenly they’d say, ‘We’re ready, Heath,’ and he’d go straight into The Joker,” Caine said.

“His energy was astonishing, especially when it came from this kind of calm. He’s certainly the best villain I’ve ever seen,” he added.

Ledger, who died of an accidental prescription-drug overdose on Jan. 22 has garnered Oscar buzz for his role as the smiley yet sinister Joker. (ANI)

Hip-hop singer Chris Brown may soon be seen in an action thriller titled Bone Deep.

The 19-year-old singer is in final negotiations to star alongside ‘Wild Things’ actor Matt Dillon and rapper T.I in the new movie.

The film revolves around a group of criminals who plan a major heist at a money depot with two detectives hot on their trail, reports The Sun.

Brown made his big screen debut last year with a low-budget flick titled ‘Stomp the Yard‘.

The Gong Show is back: This time with Dave Attell!

The Gong Show was a television variety show spoof broadcast on NBC’s daytime schedule from June 14, 1976 through July 21, 1978. Well now it is back again and this time it is “The Gong Show With Dave Attell” and will premiere on the cable network on Thursday, July 17th!

The NBC incarnation and the later years of the syndicated version were emceed by Chuck Barris, who also produced them. Gary Owens hosted the first syndicated season.

Each show presented a contest between amateur performers of often dubious talent, with a panel of three celebrity judges. The program’s frequent judges included Jaye P. Morgan, Arte Johnson, Rip Taylor, Jamie Farr, and Anson Williams. Rex Reed was notorious for being the harshest critic, often giving acts a 9 when they received perfect 10s from the other judges. If any one of the judges considered an act to be particularly bad, he or she could strike a large gong, thus forcing the performer to stop. Most of the performers took the gong with sheepish good grace, but there were exceptions.

Originally, panelists had to wait 20 seconds before they could gong an act; this was later extended to 30, and finally 45. Knowing this, some contestants deliberately stopped performing just before the 45-second rule kicked in, but Barris would overrule this gambit and disqualify them. On other occasions, an act would be gonged before its minimum time was up; Barris would overrule the gong, and the hapless act would be obliged to continue with the full knowledge that their fate was already sealed.

With Dave Attell, who hosts Insomniac with Dave Attell in a unique style, the Gong Show is expected to get better and more hilarious. Attell’s material is considered “blue”. His point-of-view is that of the everyman, yet slightly imbalanced. He has an affinity for the bizarre, such as midgets and odd sexual encounters.

Attell often begins a joke in a relatively tame way, but then gets progressively stranger and ends in an obscene non sequitur. For example: “Sex is not important. What’s important is that afterward part. When you’re both naked and it’s warm and you’re watching the sun come up in the windshield. You look in her eyes, you look in her one good eye and help her strap on her leg and you know: you just fucked a pirate.”

Attell is also notorious for comedically striking down hecklers to the point of embarrassment. Attell dated comedienne Sarah Silverman for a time prior to both of their respective professional primes and major fame. When asked about the relationship on The Howard Stern Show, she remarked that he was her first real boyfriend, saying among other things that he hadn’t even smoked cigarettes before they started their relationship. Several weeks later Attell confirmed that she introduced him to “his two favorite things, alcohol and smoking”, adding his belief that “Sarah was out of his league and ended up leaving him.”

Coincidentally, Sarah Silverman is also in news. Just couple of days back, it has been reported that Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel have split, ending their relationship of five years.From 2002 until 2008, Silverman was in a relationship with Jimmy Kimmel, host of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Winehouse’s ‘no controversy’ concert thrills Irish fans

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse delighted thousands of fans at the Oxygen festival near Dublin – without any controversial incident.

The 24-year-old popstar who has been battling with drug problems elbowed a fan in her last performance at Glastonbury, but her latest show certainly proved to be a hit.

“She was brilliant, great atmosphere, she’s a real star,” the Daily Star quoted a fan, as saying.

Winehouse performed the hit singles including ‘Valerie’ and ‘Rehab’. Her subtle saxophone-infused set lasted almost an hour before 80,000 fans at Punchestown Racecourse this weekend.

After the performance, Amy hugged her backing singers, one of whom even had to fix her white dress.

Amy Winehouse’s drug addiction is playing havoc with her health. After being diagnosed with a lung condition, the singer is now, suffering from drug-induced heart problems, it has emerged.

The ‘Back to Black’ singer’s family and managers, who say she has lung condition emphysema, actually fear that the troubled star would die from coronary failure, the sources have said.

According to insiders, the 24-year-old singer, who has had two serious attacks, is suffering terrifying heart attack-like symptoms, including chest pains, breathlessness, numbness and confusion.

Last month the Rehab singer had a fit and had been hospitalised, with her dad Mitch saying that she had emphysema, but a source revealed otherwise.

“We were terrified she’d had a heart attack,” News of the World quoted the source as saying.

“Her pulse was barely there and she was struggling to breathe and complaining of chest pains. It was awful.

“She got Mitch to take her to hospital because she didn’t want a fuss but it was really serious. Far more serious than she’s made out since then.

“Amy is far more at risk from drug-induced heart failure than emphysema,” the source stated.

News of the World GP Dr Hilary Jones said on July 12 that it was “very likely” drug-addict Amy had damaged her heart.

“Crack cocaine is a stimulant. It can send the heart haywire, leading to irregular beats, palpitations, breathlessness, chest pains-all the symptoms of a heart attack,” Jones explained.

“It could be very dramatic and frightening for Amy. She would also be very breathless and have water on the lungs as a result, which might suggest a lung complaint like emphysema.

“But emphysema is more common in people over 50. She’s way too young to have damaged her lungs to that extent, and the fact she can still sing amazingly suggests they aren’t badly damaged.

“It’s more likely her breathing problems are a side-affect of having damaged her heart by taking drugs,” Jones added. (ANI)

“She will die. But it won’t be from a drugs overdose. She will die from emphysema. That will be the most likely scenario if she doesn’t check her behaviour. We are talking about a long, slow, painful death – gasping for air”, Contactmusic quoted Mitch Winehouse, as saying.

Amy’s ill health is due to the toxins accumulated in her lungs as a result of regular drug consumption.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy’s latest album may have received criticism in France, but it appears to be winning over music lovers’ hearts in Britain.

French first lady’s new album seems all set to ride high in the charts.

Pre-orders of her new record, Comme si de rien n’était (As if Nothing Had Happened), saw her reach number five in the amazon.co.uk new releases chart, outselling artists including U2, Primal Scream and Cyndi Lauper.

As Bruni appeared in a series of television and radio interviews to promote the album last week, British pre-order online sales for her record soared more than 330 per cent in the space of just 24 hours.

Last week, over 500,000 people logged on to her website to listen to samples of the album.

“This new release is definitely generating far more interest here than her previous records and she is clearly benefiting from the platform that being a president’s wife gives her as an artist. During the launch of her own club night, Amy Winehouse visited the loo 14 times in three hours. All those present at the night were baffled by the 24-year-old singer’s constant toilet trips. The Rehab star went to the loo in every 12 minutes and 40 seconds and took at least nine minutes at a time.

“It was really weird,” the Mirror quoted a fellow reveller, as saying.

“Amy seemed like she was on her best behaviour, keeping her head down. She was accompanied by a bodyguard and spent most of her time either texting frantically – or running back and forth to the loo,” the reveller added.

According to a source, Winehouse’s frantic toilet visit caused quite a commotion.

“Whenever she went to the toilets, it caused quite a commotion as people clamoured trying to take her photo or speak to her,” said the source.

“But once ensconced safely inside the cubicles, she didn’t emerge again for nearly 10 minutes. So when she did, the crowds once again gathered, drawing attention to her incessant toilet trips. She must have been pretty embarrassed.

“Having got a second wind from somewhere, she then went over to the DJ booth and started dancing.

“This pattern repeated itself throughout the night. But otherwise Amy was on good form, chatting animatedly to anyone and everyone,” the source added. (ANI)

“Obviously he wasn’t thrilled by the photos of Kim and Jude all over one another but he got over it pretty quickly.

“He likes Jude a lot and approved of him as a potential suitor for his little girl.

“Now that Jude has been linked to Lily, Rod is upset on his daughter’s behalf. No father wants to see their child humiliated and hurt, and, to an outsider, this is exactly what has happened.

“He’s spoken to Kimberly on the phone and told her in no uncertain terms what he thinks of Jude’s behaviour.

Verbally aggressive mums control their kids’ behaviour, choices

A new study has shown that verbally aggressive mothers tend to control their kids’ behaviour by directing their activity choices as well as using physical negative touch when trying to change their child’s actions.

In the study, the team led by Steven R. Wilson of Purdue University videotaped forty mothers as they completed a ten minute play period with one of their children between the ages of three and eight years. The mothers then completed a series of questionnaires including the Verbal Aggressiveness Scale.

The team found that mothers who scored higher engaged in more frequent directing of their child’s behaviour during the play activities.

They were more likely to control activity choices as well as the pace and duration of activities. Verbally aggressive mothers did so repeatedly and in a manner that tended to enforce an activity choice they had made.

However, those who scored lower on verbal aggressiveness scale were more likely to follow their child’s lead or seek their child’s input about choice of activity.

Verbally aggressive (VA) mothers also used physical negative touch when trying to change their child’s actions that included restraining a child by the shoulder or the wrist to prevent him or her from reaching a toy.

On one hand where children with high verbally aggressive mothers often resisted their mothers’ directives, on the other, children with low verbally aggressive mothers displayed virtually no resistance to their mother’s directives.

“Our study has implications for parenting classes and interventions,” the authors conclude.

“In addition to talking about why it is important for parents to avoid lots of verbally aggressive behaviour to avoid damaging their child’s self-esteem, parents who have this tendency also need to learn how to follow their child’s lead and read their child’s signals, as opposed to just taking over the play period themselves,” they added.

This study is published in the July 2008 issue of Human Communication Research. (ANI)

Scottish actor James McAvoy has confessed that he would like to be like American actor Matt Damon. McAvoy revealed that he would not mind doing something like the action franchise Bourne.

“I want to be like Matt Damon and do a hugely successful thinking-man’s action franchise like Bourne,” People mag quoted the Atonement star, currently co-starring with Angelina Jolie in Wanted, as saying in the August cover story of Details.

Though he does not seem to be a Bourne-like person, with the 29-year-old admitting that he’s lived a quiet lifestyle throughout his 20s. “All of my friends got so drunk they couldn’t even walk, let alone dance, and you just stand there going, ‘So what am I going to do?’” he said.

Lenny Kravitz blames his former manager, Guy Oseary, for entangling him in the twisted tales about Madonna and Yankee star Alex Rodriguez. Dodd Romero, the hulking fitness trainer who accompanied Alex’s wife Cynthia to Paris, also revealed that when Kravitz learned he was being accused of having an extramarital affair with Alex’s wife, Cynthia, he ‘looked like he was going to throw up.’

A source said that Romero called Kravitz two weeks ago to tip him off that Oseary – who managed Kravitz, Madonna and A-Rod – was about to ‘pimp out Madonna and A-Rod.’

However, Kravitz didn’t approve and told Romero, ‘I’ll take care of this’ – and fired Oseary. The source said that Kravitz was shocked when he was then accused of having a fling with Cynthia.

According to Romero, Oseary planted the story in retaliation for being dumped. Kravitz, Cynthia and Romero were all in Kravitz’s tour bus when the reports broke in Paris.

“Lenny looked like he was going to throw up. Lenny said, ‘I worked so hard to clean up my image and now I’m gonna get dragged into this,’ ” the New York Post quoted Romero, as saying.

A rep for Kravitz confirmed he dumped Oseary two weeks ago. (ANI)

‘Huge’ paycheque not enough to make Pammie strip for Oz Big Brother

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse is at it again, this time punching a guy three times in the face.The shocked recipient of the punches, drinker Wayne Lindsay, 29, said that Winehouse turned round and punched him three times in the face as he stood behind her.

“It really stung. I couldn’t believe it. I hadn’t said anything to her or touched her,” the Sun quoted him as saying. After punching Lindsay in the face, the 24-year-old Back to Black singer then stormed out of the pub in Camden, North London.

According to Lindsay, who is from Cambridge, Winehouse had been downing tequila and “looked as if she was in another world”.

“Someone behind her pinched her bottom and she reacted,” a pal of Winehouse insisted.

This is the third time that the Rehab singer has struck someone, the second being on July 5th when she had struck a fan trying to photograph her as she returned to her home nearby.

Queen of pop Madonna has expressed outraged at the claims by Alex Rodriguez estranged wife that the baseball star was having “an affair of the heart” with the singer. Cynthia Rodriquez’s divorce lawyers had filed the claims against Madge when she filed for divorce.

Madonna, however, has refused to take the slur lying down. “Madonna’s outraged,” the Sun quoted a source involved in A-Rod’s divorce battle, as revealing last night.

“She told his wife Cynthia’s lawyers not to make any more statements about her – in short, shut up,” the source said.

As revealed on July 8, the 32-year-old New York Yankee was hit with a 50million pounds divorce suit, though lawyers have stated that his association with Madge, 49, is not sexual.

However a make believe picture of a love child between the two, was created by a US TV station. Madge was said to have lost her cool after hearing a comment made by 34-year-old Cynthia’s lawyer Earle Lilly. “It’s an affair of the heart,” Lilly had said of the relationship between the singer and the baseball star.

Madonna, in New York with hubby Guy Ritchie, 39, has denied that there is an affair going on. (ANI)

The French First Lady’s record label Naive has confirmed that 14 tracks of her new album ‘Comme si de rien n’était‘ will now be available for free on www.carlabruni.com from 08.30 BST until July 21.

The yet-to-be-released album will be sold internationally as “Simply”, and with all the interest surrounding it, its release has been brought forward by ten days to 11 July.

Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy, for her part, is all to aware that response to album “will not just be musical” and that it “risks being scrambled” by her marriage to the President of France.

However, that said, most early reviews of her work have been positive.

Most of the lyrics speak of love and passing time, and some are clearly a reference to her romance with Sarkozy, reports the Telegraph.

In Ta Tienne (Yours), she sings: “Let them curse me, I don’t give a damn. I couldn’t care less, I take all the blame I who made men dance/I give myself to you entirely.”

In another she opens up about the numbers of men she’s slept with.

She sings is “still a child, despite my 40 years, despite my 30 lovers.”

Another, “Tu es ma came” (You are my drug), drew a formal protest from the Colombian government for speaking of a love “more deadly than Afghan heroin, more deadly that Colombian white.”

Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy has also revealed that the royalties from the sales will go to charity. (ANI)

Posh’s plane’s bird-hit tarmac terror!

Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice got the scare of her life when the plane she was travelling in was brought to a screeching halt just moments before take off. The Spice Girl and her sons Romeo and Cruz were on the plane when suddenly a bird flew into one of its engines. The pilot slammed the brakes and the aircraft was brought to a halt. Emergency crews rushed in, dousing the overheated brakes with foam.

And as if that scare wasn’t enough, Posh then had to deal with the fact that she was wearing standard-issue aircraft pyjamas and no make-up! She then managed a quick transformation, grabbing her high heels, designer clobber and lipstick, reports The Sun.

As other passengers were taken back to the terminal, Posh stayed behind in the plane to complete her makeover. She, her sons, her PA and a bodyguard were taken to the building separately. They later caught another flight to London from Los Angeles.

While Posh was not their to comment, another of the terrified passengers did. The passenger said: “It was really scary when the pilot suddenly slammed on the brakes. The plane was taxiing down the runway and we were set for take-off.

“We had no idea what was happening and you immediately fear the worst. I was sitting a few rows back from Victoria and her sons, who were at the front of the plane. “Victoria wasn’t wearing any make-up and had changed into the pyjamas provided by the airline.

“It looked like she kept really calm throughout. She appeared to be comforting Romeo at one point. “I guess she was as relieved as everyone else.

“Who knows what could have happened if the bird had flown into the engine a few seconds later, after take-off. “Young children were crying and for a moment I feared it was going to turn into a scene from a disaster movie.” (ANI)

‘I’m not getting a divorce, or having an affair’, says Madonna

Music icon Madonna insists she isn’t planning to divorce her husband of seven years Guy Ritchie, or that she’s having an affair with Yankee baseball star Alex Rodriguez. In a statement to People magazine, Madonna said that she was also not responsible for Rodriguez taking to her religion Kabbalah.

“My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study,” she said.

“I have learned over the years not to take accusations and the many false reports about me very seriously. “I also appreciate how fiction and fact seem to be perceived as one and the same by people who read both newspapers and the Internet,” she added.

Madonna’s statement comes even as Rodriguez’s estranged wife Cynthia has decided to file for divorce citing his “relationship” with the singer as the reason.
One of Cynthia’s lawyers, Maurice Kutner, told The Post Sunday night that A-Rod’s “relationship with Madonna was the latest situation in a series of events” that doomed the marriage. (ANI)

Minogue had hired a private room at Chelsea boozer the Admiral Codrington for her posse, where they dined on meat pies, ice cream and beer as they saw the cheeky side of her adopted country. The 40-year-old was even given a treat by one of the rugby lads, when he did a full striptease for her.

The party, which took place after she received her award from 59-year-old Prince Charles, had more than 30 guests including her proud parents Carol, 72, and Ron, 76, who flew in from Australia. “It was amazing to see Kylie Minogue come walking into the pub with her friends and family, and they seemed to be having a really good time,” the Daily Star quoted pub regular Tom Clayton, 32, as saying.

“I’ve seen a couple of Chelsea footballers in here before but never a pop star. “They were having a sing-song at one point in the evening. “But I don’t think Kylie did any singing.

“She was sat most of the time at the table while some of the others were getting up and dancing and messing around,” he added. Kylie sipped red wine as she celebrated her success, and there were cheers as a male pal made a speech toasting her. (ANI)

Rihanna would rather deal with paparazzi than screaming fans

Even though most celebrities find the paparazzi annoying, Barbadian singer Rihanna has admitted that she will choose them any day, over screaming fans. The decision to do so was brought about after she completed a photo shoot at Highbar on West 48th Street.

When she tried to leave the rooftop, she was told that the exit was impassable.”The exit was mobbed with paparazzi,” the New York Post quoted a source as saying. So to avoid the paparazzi, staffers at the hotel tried to sneak her out from the entrance below the bar, it was even worse, “with a mob of teens waiting for photos and autographs.”

After seeing the crowd of eager fans, she chose to take the paparazzi route. (ANI)

Russell Brand has ‘finally settled down’

With endless number of affairs to his name, serial womanizer Russell Brand has finally settled down. And the woman who has tamed Brand, who has dated the likes of Kate Moss, is 22-year-old Aussie actress Teresa Palmer.

Arriving at the O2 Silver Clef Awards held in London’s Park Lane on July 4, Russell said, “I’m a changed man.” “I’ve met someone very beautiful and I’ve settled down. There’s no more womanizing,” the Mirror quoted him, as saying.

He added: “I’m definitely into Australian women. I think they’re the answer. I’m very, very happy.” Brand met his new ladylove on the set of their new movie ‘Bedtime Stories’. Since then they’ve been inseparable and Brand even took her to a romantic retreat off the coast of Mexico last month. (ANI)

Harry Potter finds new love interest in new movie

The new Harry Potter movie ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’ has a new love twist added to it. The new film will see the dark evolution of blond rival Draco Malfoy, played by Tom Felton, and Harry teaming up with Dumbledore to keep Hogwart’s protected from evil.

Potter will find himself falling for Ginny played by actress Bonnie Wright, the little sister of his best pal Ron Weasly, as described by director David Yates. “They’re about to kiss. Then the bloody Death Eaters turn up and cause all sorts of anarchy,” the Sun quoted him as saying.

But it is not only Potter who has a love story in the movie. His friend Ron Weasly also finds himself a love story when he becomes the target of a girl named Lavender Brown, which leaves Hermione Granger a tad jealous.

The film, due to be released in November this year, will see the return of its three main stars, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, a full seven years after the original was made.

With previous films raking in hundreds of millions on their release, this looks set to be one of the biggest films of the year. Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix is set to be released on November 21. (ANI)
