The beauty also says that she has plans to start a family one day, but hints it could be at the expense of her acting career.

"I want to have babies one day but not right now. When I do it I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life," Contactmusic quoted Cruz as saying.

"I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children," she added.

The 34-year-old beauty has admitted that she welcomes the idea of ageing and has no qualms about the thought of grey hair and wrinkles, reports Contactmusic.

She tells Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine, “Age holds absolutely no fear for me. There is so much enjoyment ahead.

Director Pedro Almodovar has revealed that he did not want the actress’ trademark dark and dishevelled hairstyle for the film.

Instead, he opted for a sleek platinum blonde wig – and even managed to convince Cruz to squeeze into a red latex minidress and fishnet tights to complete her dramatic metamorphosis.

“Before beginning the tests for my film I had already decided to avoid the dishevelled styles, inspired by Sophia Loren, which suit Penelope so well. After seeing the photo from Vicky Cristina Barcelona, I was even more convinced about my decision,” Contactmusic quoted Almodovar, as saying.

“I want to try not to repeat hairstyles that Penelope has worn in other films. I really enjoy reinventing her, discovering the number of characters that reside within our beautiful and versatile leading lady,” Almodovar added. (ANI)

She told US TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey: "When they gave it to me I could not stop crying for 20 minutes. I could not look at it – is it for real, or one of those things my friends gave me or something? "This morning I woke up with the same feeling. But I had put the Oscar in my bed, on the other pillow, I looked – and it was there!"

Penelope’s friends and family all painted the letter ‘P’ on their foreheads to show their support for the actress at the awards. In her acceptance speech, Penelope said: "I grew up in a place called Alcobendas, where this wasn’t a very realistic dream." Penelope – who is her country’s first ever female Oscar winner – celebrated her win by partying until 5.30am after the ceremony. In collecting an Academy Award, Penelope follows in the footsteps of her boyfriend Javier Bardem, who became the first Spanish actor to win an Oscar last year. Javier didn’t attend the awards on Sunday because he was filming his latest movie ‘Beautiful’.

Cruz, who is tipped for an Oscar as best supporting actress for Allen’s ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’, says that she loved working for the New York director, for he has a way of making his actors feel really comfortable.

“I only met Woody for one minute, then I was told that I had passed the audition,” Penelope gushed at a recent London awards bash,” the Daily Express quoted Cruz, as saying.

“That was it. When we started work I did all my scenes in four weeks, no rehearsal, everything in two takes.

“I loved it and although I always prefer working in Spanish, I felt really relaxed in English for the first time.

Allen had sent the script over to Cruz asking her if she would like to do the role of an unstable artist, and had given her just two hours to return the manuscript and answer.

Cruz said she did not think twice about it and immediately accepted the role as soon as she finished reading it. "He sent me a script and told me I had to return it in two hours and say whether I wanted to do the film or not by the end of the day. The ‘Vicky Christina Barcelona’ star admits that she has never sent and never received any Valentine’s Day cards. They hold no importance for her, reports China Daily. "Valentine’s Day cards means nothing to me. I have never sent one – and never had one," she said.

The 34-year-old actress also revealed that she doesn’t like to talk about her love life. "I do not like talking about love. It is too revealing. But I have had so much love in my life, and I am always open to it," she said.

Cruz is all set to appear in a Spanish-language thriller, Broken Embraces, her fourth collaboration with filmmaker Pedro Almodovar.
