In a blog posted on the website Huffington Post, the actress clarified speculation about her recent weight loss.

The actress insists she has simply been eating balanced meals and increasing her amount of physical activity to get in shape.

“Since dedicating myself to getting into ’superhero shape’, several articles regarding my weight have been brought to my attention,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

“Claims have been made that I’ve been on a strict workout routine regulated by co-stars, whipped into shape by trainers I’ve never met, eating sprouted grains I can’t pronounce and ultimately losing 14 pounds off my 5′3″ frame.

“I’m a petite person to begin with, so the idea of my losing this amount of weight is utter lunacy. If I were to lose 14 pounds, I’d have to part with both arms. And a foot,” she added.

The 24-year-old has urged tabloids to take greater care in reporting on body issues that could affect younger readers.

“I’m frustrated with the irresponsibility of tabloid media who sell the public ideas about what we should look like and how we should get there,” she said.

“…I would be absolutely mortified to discover that some 15-year-old girl in Kansas City read one of these ‘articles’ and decided she wasn’t going to eat for a couple of weeks so she too could ‘crash diet’ and look like Scarlett Johansson…

“I’m not normally the type to dignify toilet paper rags with a response, but in this case I feel it’s my responsibility to comment. In a way, I’m glad some dummy journalist (and I use the term ‘journalist’ loosely) is banking on my ‘deflating’ so that I can address the issue straight from my healthy heart,” she added. (ANI)

The ‘North’ actress has reportedly lost over 14 pounds, after she began working out with Gywneth Paltrow’s trainer Tracy Anderson, in a bid to shape up for Iron Man 2.  

“The pair have been doing daily workouts with Gwyneth’s personal trainer Tracy Anderson,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“Scarlett is also staying away from carbohydrates,” the source added.

Scarlett reportedly decided to cut few extra pounds after she felt leaner actresses might bag her roles.

“Scarlett has always been happy with her curves, but recently she has been feeling pressure to lose a few pounds,” a pal said.

The 34-year-old former Spice Girl has landed a guest role as a princess on the hit Nickelodeon cartoon.

Posh recorded the voice-over late last year and, according to the sources, studio bosses are quiet impressed.

“Victoria was a complete pro and finished all her takes in a day,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

“She isn’t interested in becoming an actress, but voice-over work is something that appealed. She joked that she could simply rock up to the studios in a trackie and no make-up and no one would ever know.

“Scriptwriters created the role of a posh British princess especially for her and were blown away by what a natural she was.

“Victoria enjoyed every minute and is keen to do more. Network bosses have been in touch since, offering more work – she really does have her pick of projects,” the source added.

She was persuaded to take the part by youngest son Cruz, four – who is a huge fan of Spongebob.

Posh’s episode is likely to air during an hour-long special this summer. (ANI)

The actress revealed that even though she has previously undergone weapon training for her other roles, she is yet to feel confident about portraying a murderous girl for ‘Amazon’.

“But do I fit the mould? I’m a Danish/Jewish girl from New York.

“I’ve done weapons training. I’ve fired all kinds of guns; 9mm semi-automatics, machine guns, shotguns. I’ve jumped off a 60-foot building. I learnt to ride for The Horse Whisperer. But I’ve never done a full-on action role.

“I only met Woody for one minute, then I was told that I had passed the audition,” Penelope gushed at a recent London awards bash,” the Daily Express quoted Cruz, as saying.

“That was it. When we started work I did all my scenes in four weeks, no rehearsal, everything in two takes.

“I loved it and although I always prefer working in Spanish, I felt really relaxed in English for the first time.

Speaking of her latest movie, “He’s Just Not That Into You”, which comically chronicles the romantic misadventures of several individuals and communication between the sexes, the actress said that even relationships and love needed de-coding.

“My friends and I talk about relationships and I probably over-analyse everything. But I usually come back to the same thing: ‘If this person is making you crazy or making you doubt yourself, then get rid of him.’ I always sort of come back to that,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

She added: “Whether or not my girlfriends stay with the guy at the time, they usually end up parting ways in the end.

“It sounds like I’m breaking up people all over the place.”

And the 24-year-old actress, who married actor Ryan Reynolds last year (08), has some words of advice for women who have just broken up with their partners.

She said: “For a while you feel beaten down – you had to put a lot into it (the relationship) and didn’t get something out of it.

“It’s hard to be a 24-year-old actor and not be typecast. A lot of roles are either for a sexy person or a Juno-type character,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling America’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

“That ageism makes the actress fearful for her future, making her consider another path within the industry.

“There is some weird ageist quality in Hollywood, perhaps that’s why I lean more toward directing and development.

“That’s probably the direction I’ll take; I can’t keep up this face forever, you know,” she added. (ANI)

Whether it’s cockroaches or heights, spiders or flying – everyone has a fear, and if you thought that the phenomenon of phobias do not exist for celebrities, then you need to think twice.

The survey of more than 1000 people including celebrities has revealed some of celebrities” deepest fears.

With Scarlett Johansson it is the fear of cockroaches. “I once knew a girl who actually had giant African cockroaches as pets, and she would play with them and fuss over them. She often tried to get me to touch one, but I wouldn”t. I told her I have been afraid of them ever since I once woke up with one crawling over my face, and another was in my shoe,”” The Courier Mail quoted her, as saying.

The survey, commissioned by one of Britain’’s leading hypnotherapists, Joseph Clough, revealed that Nicole Kidman is a lepidopterphobe – she is terrified of butterflies.

“I am not afraid of snakes or spiders — just butterflies. It all started when I was a child. Sometimes I would come home from school and the biggest butterfly you have ever seen would be fluttering on our front gate. I”d climb over the fence rather than touch the gate, and crawl around to the side of the house to go in the back door.”” she said.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has revealed that she has a number of phobias, the worst of which is a fear of elevators.

“The trouble is that many of the Hollywood meetings I have to attend take place at the top of tall buildings — and I simply cannot set foot in a lift if there are too many people in it. If there’’s four of five people in it, then I just about manage it,” she said.

“I prefer it when it’’s empty so I can scream if I want to. I am also scared of sharks, which is why you will never find me in the sea, and I am a terrible hypochondriac. I have every illness known to man, and I am pretty sure I have had the bird flu four of five times. I know I drive people mad with my phobias,”” she added.

Jennifer Aniston has been terrified of flying ever since she was caught in a bad storm in a small plane years ago.

“We became caught up in an electrical storm. And the Toronto to New York flight took two hours, which was twice the usual time,” she said.

“Every time we flew over a field I hoped the pilot would decide to land, but he didn”t. What really scares me is the take-off. I”ve heard all about the aerodynamics, the speed, the engine — but I still get nervous,”” she added.

Among the male celebrities who admit to having phobias is Johnny Depp, who revealed that he is not only afraid of singing in public, but also of clowns.

“I was forced to overcome my singing fear because of the movie Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I warned director Tim Burton that I wasn”t very confident of my singing abilities, ”” he says.

“I also have had an acute fear of clowns — a condition known as coulrophobia — ever since I had nightmares of them as a kid. I used to see their faces leering at me,” he added

Soccer ace David Beckham suffers from ataxophobia  – a fear of disorder or untidiness.

He admits that everything has to match: his shirts are arranged in his wardrobe according to colour, and he lines up cans of Coke in the fridge.

“I”m very organised and controlled and need to go to bed at night knowing what I”m going to wear the next morning,”” he said. (ANI)
