The 43rd Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest is won by Carolyn Gurtz of Gaithersburg

At 7 PM on food network, someone’s life will change for ever. Carolyn Gurtz of Gaithersburg, Maryland, brings home the million-dollar Grand Prize. In addition, she won the Jif® Peanut Butter Award.
The 43rd Pillsbury Bake-Off contest held in Dallas in April will be featured on Food Network Challenge. Watch for local Ohioans who were among the 100 finalists, including Audrey Madyun and Eva Hukalo of Toledo and Jean Gottfried of Upper Sandusky.
“Challenge: Pillsbury Bake-Off” showcases who has the best dish in the country when the winner takes home the $1 million prize. The favorites included Jennifer Howeth of Newcastle and Sherrie Reid of Jenks who were among the 100 finalists.
Tens of thousands of recipes were entered in the 43rd Pillsbury Bake-Off® Contest. One hundred finalists competed on April 14, 2008, and judges voted Double-Delight Peanut Butter Cookies from the Sweet Treats category the Grand Prize winner.
Carolyn Gertz won the $1 million prize for her peanut butter cookie that was creamy on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
