Three Pak hockey clubs to play in India

Three Pakistani club will be the main attraction of the Surjit Silver Jubilee hockey tournament to be played under floodlights at the Surjit Astro-turf hockey stadium here from October 18 to 25.

According to organising secretary Iqbal Singh Sandhu, three Pakistan teams – Javed Hockey Club, Gojra; Crescent Hockey Club, Sialkot and Independent Hockey Club, Sargodha – have confirmed their participation in the event, to play directly from the quarter-final stage.

The teams have been recommended by Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), Sandhu said.

Some of the teams in the event are: Last year’s champions Indian Oil, Mumbai; Punjab & Sind Bank, Delhi; Namdhari XI, Sirsa; Border Security Force, Jalandhar; Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala & Bharat Petroleum. (ANI)
