Val Emmich moves in as Christopher Gorham leaves “Ugly Betty”

The American television comedy-drama series “Ugly Betty” starring America Ferrera in the title role is again in the news. Christopher Gorham has left the series and signed on to star in the CBS drama “Harper’s Island. Freddy Rodriguez is not expected to be seen much either. This brings us to the breaking news that Val Emmich has been cast in a recurring role to play a love interest for Betty Suarez. He will play an actor/musician named Jess/Jesse.
Who is Val Emmich?
Val Emmich is an American actor/musician, and has just released a new single entitled “Get On With It.” He has worked in 30 rock, Third Watch, and Hope and Faith. Val Emmich is into music and has put in six albums till date. The Fifteen Minute Relationship (2001), Slow Down Kid (2003), Slow Down Kid (2004), Sunlight Searchparty (2006), Songs Volume 1: Woodstock (2007) and Little Daggers (2008).
He was also associated with the making of a film – his 2006 album Sunlight Searchparty came packaged with a DVD containing the film It’s Only Your Life: The Making Of Sunlight Searchparty. It was an hour long documentary directed by Matt Schuman showing the recording process and showing them discussing the inspiration behind making the album. He is highly versatile and is into writing novels also. He has apparently completed his first novel.
Since its debut, “Ugly Betty” won two Golden Globe Awards on January 15, 2007, for “Best Leading Actress in a Comedy Series” (America Ferrera) and Best Comedy Series. Ferrera also won a SAG Award on January 28, 2007 for “Best Actress in a Comedy Series”. On June 4, 2007 the series was honored with a Peabody Award for its storylines, which explores clashing concepts of beauty, class, race and footwear with intelligence, warmth and wit. Ugly Betty won the Outstanding Comedy Series award by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation in April 2007.
