Vizio internet apps : VIZIO Inc. ties up with Beyonce and Blockbuster Movie Streams
Vizio, America’s #1 LCD HDTV Company, reportedly signed a contract with Blockbuster’s movie streaming service that would soon feature Blockbuster On Demand on it.
Dave Habiger, CEO of Sonic Solutions, whose Roxio CinemaNow software enables the No. 1 DVD rental service, announced with his investors on February 4, that VIZIO, Inc., “Where Vision Meets Value,” would bow Blockbuster-enabled TVs from spring onwards.
The California-based HDTV and Consumer Electronics Company’s spokesman Jim Noyd confirmed the existence of an agreement with Blockbuster although the release date for Vizio TVs incorporating Blockbuster movies is yet to be determined.
Blockbuster movies, is most probably going to be incorporated through branded Vizio apps (VIA), which would separately air Netflix, Showtime, Revision3, blip.tv, CBS, CNBC, Free Stream Media, iMemories, NBC and The Weather Channel.
Fresh from her Grammy performances the sensational Beyonce Knowles sang & highlighted the apps and premium XVT television line (priced from $1,199) during the pre-game and fourth quarter of Sunday’s Super Bowl telecast with a 60-second clip.
By featuring Blockbuster On Demand, Vizio would improve the quality of flicks available electronically to consumers, not to mention featuring the latest releases too.
Dallas-based Blockbuster, the No. 1 DVD rental service, has CE deals with Samsung, TiVo and Motorola that feature internal Blockbuster-branded widgets in TVs, Blu-ray players, digital video recorders and mobile phones, easing the ability to rent or buy movies electronically.
